Writing a song

Yes i'm attempting this near impossible challenge of songwriting. I have the words which i posted as one of my poems in another thread on this site. I wanted to post them here to get your views on them and what you think i could change about them. I want a song that young people can relate to, those that are feeling really down in life altogether and i might not use this one for that. This song hopefully is going to be a rocky type of song like some of Evanescence's that are still rocky but make you think. Anyway, here are the lyrics:

Searching for a reason
A reason for living, being here
A reason for this life
A reason for being in this world

The pain is just so bad
How can this be happening?

I'm falling deeper, Save me!

Save me from the darkness

Like i said, i'm open to any advice!

I don't know what exactly to do to it, but I might change it. If it feels totally right to you, then don't change it. But at this point... it seems longer than the rest of "a reason for.." phrases.

Other than that, I really like it, it sounds awesome, and I'm already relating to it, even without the music.

yeah that's what i was thinking, i'm gonna either change it or change the length of the end of the verse lol. All i need now are some chords!

i wrtoe one song that has a gothic feel to it, kinda lke Evanescence, and my girlfriend was (hopefully is) going to sing the words for it. Everyone says she sounds like Amy Lee. Anywayz back to the point. Just grab a guitar or something, and just fool around with different stuff. Once you find a couple cool riff thingys, just add them together.

Hmmm i think writing the music is gonna be quite hard, especially seeing as Piano is my main instrument. I know that this should make it easier but believe me, it's not!!!!!

I have been writing lyrics for about 3 months now, so a lot of my songs aren't that great. I learned you have to have a passion to write the song. Don't ever try to force yourself to write a song.

I've also been trying to do a rocky version of the old Doxology hymn to make it a bit more, well modern lol. At least i have a little success with that!
