If a Woman has been healed and turned her life around, I think, judging by responses in this thread, it would be a huge task to find a man secure enough in himself and secure enough in Gods power to heal.

You, I assume, believe the healings and other miracles in the bible. You didn't witness them, you don't know the authors personally, yet you would question whether an ex prostitutes healings are real.

How do you personally, yes you, decipher a real healing, whether written or otherwise?

While those two may be factors, it's really a matter of trust. People lie or are just overestimating how much they have healed. They could be healed on the surface, but broken enough on the inside that they would be bad spouses.

I have seen enough Christians (including myself) wrongly claim that they are totally healed. Their sin is never really gone, it comes back up in a big way sooner or later. This deception can happen intentionally or unintentionally. There's no shortage of demand in the church for a good testimony, and some people embellish theirs, knowing they are filling this demand. The desire to prove themselves as eligible singles may also be a factor.

So the question isn't "Can God heal this ex-prostitute?" It's "Did God really heal this particular ex-prostitute to the point where she would be a good wife?"

It's rather simple logic, really. In the Bible, when a blind man was healed, he could see and this didn't wear off. People could clearly see the evidence of these miracles.

Prostitution, on the other hand, doesn't destroy your physical eyes, but it seriously harms you on the inside. So if you meet someone who is an ex-prostitute, and she claims she was healed, you have to take her word for it. And therein lies the problem. If her past is undeniable, then her healing ought to be just as undeniable. It can be proven with time, but by the time that has been proven, the opportunity for dating will have gone by.

You are talking about a man in the bible who was healed of blindness and it was observed, so it was a healing you could see.

The problem here is, You, yes you, did not witness the healing. You trust that what is written in the bible is true. You did not see the healing, you didn't witness the healing being recorded by someone who witnessed it, so it was not observed by you.

Your post is pointless. I also believe you doubt the power of healing, and propose that we should doubt healings unless they can be witnessed.

What about the healing of internal organs? You want medical reports before you would believe it?

I don't see how that would be unreasonable. In these days of fake, temporary healings and pseudo-charismatic charlatans, I think that would be a good idea that would bring God glory. People doubt miracles, and medical reports could lay these doubts to rest.

And yes, I believe the Bible, even though I didn't witness the events. However, I'm not going to put what someone tells me just outside the sanctuary on the same level as the Bible.

(True story) A pastor of a huge, huge church who (despite being married at that time) lured women as young as 18 to engage in sex and other sex acts with him (some of them were blackmailed by him and some were given expensive gifts like cars to 'silence' them) and then when caught and sentenced to prison, comes clean (after denying his actions forever) and seems to geniunely repent. Comes out of prison and starts up a brand new church, with him as the pastor, of course

The list basically goes on.

My point?

What I am saying is that Iseekthetruth has a valid point and people should consider it and not try to make him feel that he is somehow 'flawed' or 'in the wrong' for holding his views or preferences.

Unfortunately, sexual offenders are the the worst recidivists. Prostitutes who go straight is not so bad, but all other sex offenders are the most difficult to heal. Interestingly, murder is the least likely to be repeated.

I have know several prositutes, and not in the business way. I seldom had a problem with any. Only once when a heroin addict who was supposed to be kicking drugs was sneaking and doing heroin.

Hmmmm.....so are you playing 'favourites' here? Sin is sin...and if God has forgiven them and washed them clean, shouldn't they all be treated the same way and accepted as future spouses?

yes, LOVE YOUR NIEGHBOR. There are no prerequisites to that commandment. Jesus says it is just as important as LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND ALL YOUR MIGHT.

We do need to be careful who we bring home, even if they say they are saved. Time is the tell. Molesters recid more often than any, with rapists right behind and other lesser crimes seem to be less repeated. Prostitutes who leave the business, and it is a business, and get off drugs, then get married are the least as far as recidivism.
I just wish everyone who says they are saved were genuinely saved.
I guarantee you, there are those here who claim to be saved and in there hearts are not.

PS: In my view, prostitution is not a legitimate 'business' but a sign of severe spiritual oppression (amongst other things).

Your right, a woman does not care about herself or her life when they step into this occupation, it is a place of EXTREME spiritual oppression. Sadly, I dont think you realize it until your already into it. Some people look for personal fufillment in the weirdest places.

Twisted Sketch is right, there will be scars and emmotional baggage. BUT I do believe God is a God of Restoration, he is also called Jehovah-Rapha, the God that healeth thee, so I think that God can make anybody a Godly person, they just have to have the right heart.

Thank you for clearing up this 'common' misconception. At least when it comes from YOU (the person who has actually experienced it) there is more weight to it than coming from an outsider like me.

No offense man but I really feel like you are just trying to rationalize this without looking within yourself. Like I said backsliding I think is a non-issue because I think that I could just as easily backslide back into atheism and at one point recently I almost did.
