Would a 4 PM Healing Mass on Sunday count for the Sunday obligation?

Ave Maria,

If the collects and readings are from the day (which I presume they would be), then I would say yes. Even if they were not I am still inclined to say yes.

Thanks Irenaeus. I thought that whether or not a Mass counted as a Sunday Mass depended on what time of the day it took place? Like I thought that any Mass before like 5 PM counted as a Sunday Mass. Was I wrong?

The general norm is that 5 PM Sat to 5 PM Sun is what constitutes a "Sunday Mass," yes.

Although the question does come, especially during Saturday Wedding Masses, as to whether their Mass fulfills their obligation for the weekend. What many Priests will do (which I think is licit) is that they will make the Wedding Mass a bit later on Saturday and take the readings from the Sunday.

Couples have an option of selecting their own readings or taking the Mass of the Day with the celebration of their marriage in the middle. The latter would fulfill the obligation because the Mass of the Day in that case would be Sunday.

(wondering if there is anywhere that has "daily" mass by doing 6pm and 7pm or whatever back-to-back every other day)

This is a Sunday 6pm at The Redemptorist Monastery.
The 7pm Mass is at my local Parish but they are within 10 minutes drive of each other.

These late masses are on Sunday only. Both Parishes offer morning Mass daily and on Sunday.

My Local Parish offers daily mass at 5.40 pm every evening which is great if you can't go the the 7.30am Mass due to family commitments.

Healing Mass, children's Mass, Baptismal Mass, Confirmation Mass, Marriage [if allowed on Sunday] or even on Sat evening, etc is still Mass.

They just do the Homily according to the situation.

Today is the Vigil of the Assumption--although the feast of the Assumption isn't a holy day of obligation this year, at least in our diocese (because it falls on a Monday, I was told.)

Unless it's characterized as a vigil Mass, I imagine that it would count for a Sunday Mass.

I have been to a number of healing Masses, and members of my family have experienced healings. I hope it brings you peace and joy and good health.

(We were always told not to pray for our own healing, but to pray for the healings of others. And yet we would always experience great graces.)

The more love for others, the more grace [love and peace] we seem to obtain.
God is so good.

Mondays do not have Vigils unless they are a day of Obligation. And the same holds true for our parish, we dont have to attend tomorrow because it falls on a Monday.

I might go anyway.
