  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there,
Our church currently has our youth stay in with the congregation for worship and announcements. The kids are then released for children's church while the adults listen to the sermon. We have heard some feedback that this time is stressful for parents, and they're choosing to arrive just in time for the service instead of participating in Worship. We're looking at some different ideas on how to either pull the kids into the worship time, or how to make this more family friendly. I have a couple ideas, but wanted to find out what you do? Hoping for ideas or tried and true practices. Thanks!

I guess you could talk to your pastor and leader's in your church and see if you could find ways to include the kid's in your worship service , weather a song they do , a devotional, a small skit or collecting offering's, depending on their age , I guess i would like to know what idea's you have since you would know the manners of the kid's their best ,I know not every method will work in every church , I do think it is important that children feel that they are a part of the worship service , we done theses thing's and they worked pretty well , I do think the parent's need to be a part of the solution , maybe get some feedback from them too about idea's they have and ask them if they would be a part in helping , but all in all this is a hard one because their is no way to please every parent , and it just takes time to figure out what would work best in your church and a whole lot of patience from everyone

I don't understand what you mean by "arrive just in time for the service instead of participating in Worship" (sic).

And why do you send the children out of the service? How is that consistent with Biblical worship?

You realize all that does is cause children to lose interest in church when they get older right ?

A lot of churches incorporate children's choruses into the main service.

I can certainly see the value of this.
