This thread is about World War III. Which nations or power-blocs would be engaging in the next global conflict? What would World War III be fought over? Would Nuclear Weapons be used? Will America reinstate the draft for WWIII? What would the outcome of World War III be? Would there be a World War IV? Are we in WWIII already?

This is an interesting post.

I believe that WWIII will be Russia, Japan, and the West vs. China and Islam. It just seems to me that China and Islam are two very likely allies.

Well definatly the US will be involved, which will, devastating result in Britian, and other close allies to join. Who will they be against? Whoever is the highest threat to them. Could be arab nations, could be Islam extremists, could be China, could even be the EU if the Euro is adopted in all European countires and is therefore stronger than the doller. Who knows? What a morbid poll lol.
Oh btw its wrong to say 'The West Vs Islam' as the huge, huge majority of Muslims are peace loving. Maybe you should change it to say 'Islamist Extremists'.

Indeed, but if Britian (and others) would join the Eurpoean Single Currency (Euro), the US would suffer extremly.

As a Muslim, i'll tell you what prophet Muhammad told us about what will happen in the future, but he hasnt specified when:

This is the great epic, and will be lead by Al Mahdy, in which USA and Europe will be defeated, and it is one of the most rigorous and drastic wars. It will happen 9 months after the first war. The Romans' leaders will gather secretly in the betrayal period (which is the 9 months), and go to meet Muslims in a huge army of about one million soldiers. This war will take four days and four nights, and at the end of the fourth day, Muslims win and defeat the Romans.

Well, if WWIII turns out to be an alien invasion, then Earth would end up as a colony of some alien race. However, humanity will hide out in the mountians and jungles, engage in guerilla warfare, adapt alien technology to its own, and eventually drive away the aliens. That is unless humanity has developed colonies of its own throughout the solar system by the time aliens arrive as well as a fleet of nuclear powered interplanetary spaceships.

But I think WWIII will occur after some new power blocs are formed.

China will create a "Bejing Alliance" with Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela (ruled by the leftist Hugo Chavez), along with a few leftist dictators in Africa as well as support Marxist groups like FARC in Columbia and the Shining Path in Peru.

Unless Iran has experienced another revolution from its young people, the ruling regime will try to unify with nations like Georgia, Armenia, Azerbajan as well any nation ending in "stan" creating a Restored Caliphate of Islam. The RCI will then form alliances with Sudan, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Egypt, Lybia, Syria, Yemen could unify to restore the United Arab Republic.

Russia and India will maintain their alliance against China and Pakistan.

Anyway, WWIII could start like this.

First, North Korea invades South Korea. The USA, EU, Japan all send reinforcements to beat back the North Koreans. Meanwhile, China launches an invasion of Taiwan but is repelled by the combined fleets of the USA and Taiwan. China sends one million troops into Korea and the Korean War escalates.

Meanwhile, hostilites erupt between India and Pakistan and China comes to Pakistan's aid and two million Chinese and Indian troops are fighting each other.

The Restored Caliphate of Islam moves into Afghanistan as well as against the Gulf States. The United Arab Republic also moves against the Gulf States. Faced with a two-front war, the USA and EU commit troops to the Gulf States defense.

Meanwhile, SRBMs are launched from hidden missile silos in Venezuela against the USA destroying Miami, New Orleans, Houston, Corpus Christi, and Orlando. FARC, armed with Chinese weapons, takes over Columbia while the Shining Path takes over Peru.

With the Russians supporting Pakistan, China unleashes ten million troops armed with AK-47s into Siberia. Meanwhile, The RCI also sends one million troops into Central Russia.

With WWIII being declared, America is put on a wartime production level, the draft is reinstated, and America begins to build a military of 25 million strong.

I think that the Two "Powers" will be the USA vs. China, but each will have allies.

USA's Allies(Likely)= Britain, Canada(But they have a very small military), and Japan.

USA's Allies(Unlikely)= France, Germany, Russia, Mexico

China's Allies(Likely)= Vietnam, North Korea, Cuba

China's Allies(unlikely)= India, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and other moslem nations. (I know that India's not a moslem nation, but it might join china's cause, so I put it there)

I also believe that this will happen about 2010.

I would like to comment on what I find to be nativist prejedice of this poll.
Obiously the poster is American, if not WASP.

Islam is just as good of a religion as any religion, Christanity, Judaism, Hinduism, Bhuddism, etc...
Among them are radicals, as there are everywhere, but I believe part of the reason(not all) they are so 'singled out' (if I am using the proper choice of words) is due to their resistance to western powers (especially the U.S.) desire for a part in thier petrolium.

Though Russia is no longer communist, however is plagued by a large amount of communist terrrtorsts.
I believe the worst thing that can occur in Russia is a secession of Chetchenya (or about that sub-geographic region). Mabye some of the Southern-Asain republics might adhere, which do have oriental and turkic influence.

Russians are have been a religious people,
known for srong christanity.
They never were the kind that were to become communist.
It was when the totalitarian Czars with at least 30 years of misconduct of a quickly growing country in a transforming industrial world that led to the communist rebellion, and since the government was occupied by WW I and the majority russian citizens were opposed to the Great War, the rebels won, but among the rebels not all were communist, the first government that was established was intended to be democratic by Kerensky.
However Lenin, a Marxist leader (mabye thee Communist leader) gained enough support based on the ecomomic suffering Russia went through since the last decade, also many of the southern regions of Russia were not yet Russian and it may have been the influence of those less developed non-western/judeo-christian peoples that led them to accept communism.
Stalin, the largest early communist leader was a Georgian, a member of a Near-east/Eurasian people who are sort of a cross between Semites Turks, and Persians, not europeans. When he became Premier he instilled it so much into the Russian people that they praised him as thier hero, their messiah, it was an turn that gave amny Russian bad reputations.
In short,a revolution occurred in a country that grew too fast and the revolution had a good side and a bad side (well, I don't like Communism), the communists prevailed (sadly).

Mid-easterns and orientals are generally poor peoples that were and still are willing to srtive for anything that seems to be a better life. Communism was a complete difference than the monarchs government, so the southern and asain peasents supported them. Unfortunally they sucummed to a very harsh form of government that did not help them as much as Kerensky's could have.

Kerensky fled to the U.S. and spent the rest of his life there and wrote anti-communist literature.

So yes,there are some collectivist adherents in the Russian Federation as there are in the U.S., Asia, Latin America, etc....
