CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
World Flood- Compatible with modern science?

Did not and could not have happened. Whoever made the story up made the mistake of putting the dementions of the Ark in the bible because any engineer will tell you that even with todays technology you cannot build a floating structure of those dementions made strictly out of wood; without any steel reinforcements (steel wasn't invented back then) and still float.

When they say "universal flood" they mean the entire earth. When they say "the universe" they are speaking of beyond earth to include all that exists.

There have been lots of world flood. Noah's flood 4300 years ago was not a world flood from our perspective. It could have been from Noah's perspective.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I take very literal meaning of Bible so I believe it happened. Plus there is some evidence of possible Noah Arc on a mountain in Tibet? I am skeptical but no one is allowed to see because of ban by Tibetan government. If it IS the real Noah's Arc, then world flooded yes. Even if it isn't, I take literal meaning because I believe God could have flooded the world and then made the winds blow or the plates shift in ways that made the earth appear new.
God has power to make entire earth, why can't he flood it then make it like-new again?

The bible doesn't say it was a local flood, it says world flood. Besides; if the water rose high enough to cover a mountain over 5 miles high, how can such a flood be contained to just a local area?
