The works that Jesus did:
1) What works is he referring to?
2) Is the phrase "he who believes" limited to only a certain group of people?
His ministry: his miracles, healings, preaching the gospel, and demonstrating the power
of God.
Yes, Jesus is always talking about the one true gospel that we read of in Acts and the epistles.
There is no other.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Mark 16:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father.
John 14:12
Here is another reference to the promise of the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, by which those of us
who believe and live Pentecost do have marvellous works of miracles, healings, divine provision,
and much answered prayer.
And not just within the flock but yes even for unbelievers, friends and family, work mates who
we pray for out of love.
