• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

wont be scared anymore.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I'm even more apologetic that you feel you need to abandon your faith as a Christian because of that pain. Speaking from experience, I think you'll come to find that faith has nothing to do with what has happened to you. I've been Christian all my life and the amount of time that I was abused spans more than half my age. I can honestly say that I don't blame God. Do I wish He could have intervened and saved me? Yes. But do I blame him for what happened? No. Because He didn't do it. For God to intervene means that the free will of my abuser would be compromised and that's just not what God had intended. Knowing God means knowing that everyone has free will. Even those who hurt us.
Man has the ability to take such beautiful things and make them tainted. Free will being among the most precious.
It was a freeing day when I realized that God didn't do this to me. And I pray that one day you'll see God didn't bring on your pain. You'll be in pain whether you're Christan or athiest. I hope you'll be able to heal from your hurt. Its possible to do so and even more so when God is incorporated in that process.
