(1Co 12:3) Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

LORD Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have mercy on me, the sinner!
woobadooba said:But then what do we do with Matt. 7:21?
Luke950 said:One may call Jesus Lord only by the Holy Ghost, but that still does not mean they will enter Heaven.
And it makes no difference how much good we do, if Jesus isn't recognized as being the Lord of the work, then the work is done in vain.

Oblio said:Explain your comment I quoted, and the impetus for it and you may have your answer.
woobadooba said:Well, what I just simply meant was that if we do the work of God, but fail to recognize the Lord of the work, then the work is done in vain in the sense that it is of no benefit to us. For, the purpose of the work is not merely to edify others, but to sanctify the heart of the one who does it.
But I still don't know what you meant.

Oblio said:I just didn't see any connection of that with the OP, or the follow on comments, unless you had a prejudice against the OP.
Kyrie Iesous Christos, Yia tou Theo, Eleison e mas.
woobadooba said:Why would I have a prejudice against the OP? I was just trying to introduce another idea that shares close ties with what he had said. That's all.
The idea is that it takes the Holy Spirit to bring us to the point of recognizing Jesus as Lord. But calling Him Lord doesn't necessarily mean we are filled with the Holy Spirit.
I would hope that in the future you wouldn't be so hasty to judge my motives as being impure.
Oblio said:Ceaseless prayer, as demonstrated in the OP, can be part of our reaching Theosis and the attaining of the Holy Spirit.
woobadooba said:We ought to pray that God would give us a spirit that enables us to find the the best in each other.
