While we're at it, let's outlaw prayer for the same reasons...job24 said:Thou Shalt not commit idolitry...witchcraft is an old belief that is clearly a fallacy. until you can cast a spell and it actually works then I believe it is a wrongful thing to practice and against the ten commandments.
I know. Religions are just as magical as any other witchcraft. Sacraments, chants, healings, miracles, worship, on and on. If you believe those things do work, then they are probably coming from the same source that magic would come from. Some extra-world. Now, how is one magic wrong, and how is one magic right?Nathan Poe said:While we're at it, let's outlaw prayer for the same reasons...

Here we go again. Let's see if anyone actually listens, or if they simply dismiss everything I say because even though I am a Pagan and have known Pagans all over this country for eleven years, I obviously don't know what members of MY OWN RELIGION do.
1. I know NO Pagans who sacrifice animals in the name of their Gods. It is, of course, possible that a few Pagans who (a) have farms and (b) eat the animals they raise dedicate them to the Gods before they kill them, but that's no more "animal sacrifice" than is kosher killing or a Christian prayer over a meal...
2. All Pagans have a moral code which would forbid them from "sacrificing" human beings. Therefore, if someone claims to be a Pagan and claims he/she sacrificed human beings...that person wasn't a Pagan.
3. If you make a claim like "all non-Christians worship Satan," you will get non-Christians very angry at you, because (a) from our points of view we naturally do no such thing and (b) that statement wasn't clarified. It is better to say, "As a Christian, I believe worship of anything but my particular Christian God is 'Satan worship,' therefore I would say any non-Christian theist is actually worshipping Satan," if of course you must say anything at all on this subject.
4. "Witchcraft" is not evil. Neither are kitchen knives or chairs evil. However, all of them can be used for evil, certainly.
5. Someday, the Christians I meet will all know this, so I won't have to say it over and over 50,000 times...and hopefully not have to fear that they'll murder me for not being a Christian.

And I find it particularly amusing that the Romans considered the early Christians as Pagan's.joebudda said:This I find amusing when Christianity has adopted a lot of Paganism.
It is quite scary the way people condemn what they have little knowledge of.
And you are saying that this is what satan wants them to do??jesusloves said:WitchCraft/Wicca......is a nature based religion...... yadda yadda.......They have love for every living thing and consider everything sacred
And who is it exactly do you think they should pick to worship?P4g4nite said:And you are saying that this is what satan wants them to do??
That is EXACTLY what I am saying. I didn't mince my words a bit. And if you are atheist, why do you even care one way or the other? Is it that big ego you have that gets the best of you and you just feel you have to have something to say? Well, then say something worthwhile rather than say that Christians picked the wrong guy to worship or whatever.
And to answer your question even further.....If Satan arrived at your door looking the way we percieve him to look like, or draw him or whatever.....then it's hardly unlikely that you would let him in your door. Now he comes as a beautiful woman (if your a man) a gorgeous (if your a woman) and is non-threatening and very loving and sweet and all that good stuff umm, yeah, your more than likely to talk to him that way. In the same way, Satan has Wiccan's believe that it's perfectly alright to honor nature and all it's splendor BECAUSE....pay attention here......they are NOT honoring GOD and that is all that matters to Satan!! It amazes me that alot of people think that Satan is only capable of making people do bad and awful things. His goal is to get us AWAY from GOD and it doesn't matter HOW he does it, whether he uses the 'good, the loving, the beauty in all things" or 'murdering, black magic and whatever"....JUST AS LONG AS HE DOES IT. But then a Christian heart would understand that. Maybe you should pray about that. I have walked both sides of the fence, I have been there, I have seen what it does to the heart and mind. And at least I can say that pagan people DO have a sense of spirituality which is a good thing. Jesus Loves and endures.
I think christians picked the wrong guy to worship...
