Hi again. I'm back after an absence. [I've been trying to keep up with the Hook Me thread, and all I can say is that the creativity of the entries is astounding. Some of them made me want to write my own 'rest of the story' just to find out what happens next!]
Anyway, here is my situation. I would like to find either another dedicated writer, or else just a person who loves to read. At present, I have two completed Christian fantasy novels out with different editors, both by special request. While I'm waiting to see if either novel is accepted, I'm continuing to write. As part of the process, I'd love to find either a fellow writer--of fantasy a plus but by no means essential--or else just somebody who is interested in reading (as yet) unpublished Christian fantasy.
Here is a brief description of the two stories I would most like to swap or else just have read. First, House of Secrets. A 19 y.o. Christian who is a singularly gifted pianist/composer still lives at home, in a very middle class family with an agressive, domineering stepfather. The MC's great uncle, one of the richest men in the world, dies, but leaves the family next to nothing. He does, however, leave open a caretaker position at a huge, isolated, very old and spooky mansion. The MC opts to accept the offer, mostly to get away from his home life. He thinks he'll be alone at the mansion, but not only will he have company--he's about to have a whole lot more. The mother-of-all life threatening situations develops that, if he can only survive it, *might* lead to an unexpected romance.
The other is my current WIP. It's called The Ghost Hunter, the Keeper and the Children. It's about three children whose father--who is a famous paranormal researcher--goes missing while investigating a pair of one-hundred-and-thirty year old houses, both with 'haunted' histories. Before worse can come to worst a very strange 'baby sitter' shows up and persuades the children to let her keep an eye on them while she helps them search for their father. As the quartet begins to unlock the terrible mystery of what became of the father, a whole new world, literally, opens up before them.
If you have a story, finished or in progress, that you would like to swap, or if you'd just like to do some reading, please let me know. I would love to hear from you!
