Winning a soul

I've been pondering on the essence
of life, hoping to make sence
of animal and human existence

Why are we here
why is it rare
to see someone who knows
the reason life flows
towards one direction
we must all grow old
this story will always be told
round and round we go
we must tag along with our foes
fellow compatriots we meet
In this journey we must indeed
when the time comes
we must weather the storms
at last we will sign off
when the good Lord says it's enough

But what did we leave behind
what will make people remind
themselves that we came
will the story remain the same?
will we be seen as lame
did it end in shame?

No way
though we didn't come to stay
we did earn our pay
a mansion, all expense paid
For He said
In my Father's house there are many mansions
Even though I paid the Ransome
for your souls
you stood as tall as polls
you made me proud of my sacrifice
I will do it all again, I will pay the price
for you I will do it all over again
because you made me feel it was for gain
you understood that you too
had to contribute
to the master plan
you won a soul

A thought-provoking poem. I especially loved the last part about what Jesus told about the Father's house having many mansions, it is very encouraging being reminded of this!

You wrote it also very well, good with rhyhmes and rhythm when reading it through.
