It's a definite improvement, but Vista wasn't super stable either. My daughter's old computer ran Vista and she had piles of problems with it. ME was the worst one though.
Sure, but picking a lemon in the Linux family during the past 12 years is easy to do, right?
I'm quite sure.
I dual boot personally. I boot to Windows when I'm doing something, like Netflix or certain games, that just runs better on my machine under Windows. I'm no Linux purist.

Once SP1 came out, that pretty much made it the best version of Windows ever.
flaming.
You should talk. Slagging off Windows is the Linux crowd's favourite hobby.
They have never yet explained why Linux has got 2.5% of the desktop market, and Windows has got 95%; seeing as Linux is so great, and Windows costs money.
Oh, and by the way, although it is true that Linux has a larger share of the server market, as of April 2014, the lead was only 4.7%.
And?
And, how Linux "dominates" the server market is something else we constantly hear from the true believers. 4.7% does not justify that adjective.
If there was the demand, games and other software would be marketed for Linux. After all, software houses are in the business of making money.
Anything with Unity pretty much fits the bill.
Systemd isn't helping either.
Remember when XP first came out, before Service Pack 1? It was not great. Half my programs had glitches or wouldn't run at all. Once SP1 came out, that pretty much made it the best version of Windows ever.
I still run Windows XP on a netbook and in a virtual machine under windows 7. I still like it. And it still runs all my hardware, both old and new.
Out of curiosity, what benefits does it offer over Windows 7?
and for people who still run win xp on their pcs.
When did I use that adjective? Can't tell if strawman or ad hominem
Both have been "happening" for as long as I can remember. At least Apple has the excuse that they threatened to sue anybody who copied their design; thereby ensuring the near monopoly of the PC/MS-DOS.Sure, but it goes both ways. If games and other software were made for linux, there would be more demand. Currently both are happening gradually
It is the typical reaction
of a true believer when it is mentioned that this fabulous OS
At least Apple has the excuse that they threatened to sue anybody who copied their design
So strawman....
