Windows 10 and the Blue Screen of Death

We're getting complaints, mostly from Windows 7 users who updated to 10, that they keep shutting down during a game that used to run fine.

Going over the very lengthy dump file of one such case, I found the cause: Windows 10 sent him a successful update. His machine had to shut down in order to be able to install the update.

Occasionally that happens with updates, and that's been happening since well before Windows 10. Microsoft don't always get it right, but this isn't a new issue. If they've seen there's a problem, I daresay they've pulled the update by now.

Started using Win 10 shortly after it got released, I can't recall the last BSOD I've had now. Don't recall any for this year.

The last Windows 10 BSOD I recall having was before it was released and an nVidia driver had a freak out.
