  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Window dressings all there be
Nothing of reality
Fake expressions their renown
Many dressed up just like clowns

False impressions, that’s their gig
Hidden messages to trick
Lots of stories they do tell
Hoping you’ll receive them well

Ins and outs and whereabouts
Often hidden, there’s no doubt
Secret letters, hide them well
They are not about to tell

Know just how to get their pass
Won’t reveal, e’en if you ask
Compliments are a façade
Hoping you’ll not see the fraud

Their escape, in their dream world
What is real they have now hurled
Magic tricks are to replace
What they do not want to face

Sin addiction holds them tight
They have given up the fight
Yielding to the flesh they do
But this is not something new

Round and round the circle go
Don’t want anyone to know
Who they are in secret world
When in hidden lust they curl

Even if they know the truth
That they should not be uncouth
Die to sin they do not do
Obey God, with that they’re through

This poem is an apt description of some of the carnal Christians I run into in the 3 churches me and my friends attend. "Oh I'm a Christian" then they proceed to act like an unbeliever when the pressure is on. At best, they ran into the dark side of OSAS and they don't want to be Christian anymore but they are saved and they are stuck. At worst, they were never believers to begin with and they are manipulative impostors. I really like how you've described the phenomenon.

Now if only I could persuade you to stop rhyming and stop capitalizing the first letter of every line of your poems, they would be even better. But the content with this poem is A+ 10/10, and that's probably the most important. :)

Linux, I read this on Google, from Study.com: "Rules for capitalization are also followed. The first word in every sentence is capitalized, and so is the pronoun I. Traditionally, in poetry, the first word of each line of the poem is also capitalized. In this way, the rules for classical poetry differ from those for prose." End of Quote

Therefore, it is perfectly okay for me to begin every line of a poem with a capital letter.

Other than that, thank you for your kind and thoughtful remarks. Most appreciated. All glory to God, and not to me. For these poems are not generated in my own mind and thinking, but they are of the Spirit. The Lord directs me in what to write, and so I write down what he gives me to say, as he gives each line to me. I do participate in the writing, but only under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Most all of the poems he gives me have a biblical context to them, some more than others, but they are all themed pretty much after the teachings of the Scriptures, just in poetic form, instead of in prose. And so the poems will cover a vast array of biblically based topics. It is just one way in which the Lord has me share what the Scriptures teach, in context. But they cannot be altered except for grammatical or spelling purposes, if necessary. Sue Love

I mean, it's okay, but it's not considered best practices for those looking to publish their poetry. Literary journals consider starting each line of a poem with a capital letter to be a red flag to throw the poem out, unless the form specifically dictates it to be so.

I see no need to remark further upon your spiritual exercise though; may the Lord bless you in it and guide your heart and your words.
