I Corinthians 15:50 says:

What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

Now,we need oxygen to breathe, and to live. Yet,the oxygen, in our atmosphere,is what causes us to age.We all agree that there will be no aging in heaven. One of the roles of our blood,in our bodies,is for the red blood cells to carry oxygen to our tissues and organs.

After,Jesus'resurrection,Jesus said that he had flesh and bones, not flesh and blood.

So,since we do not need blood to be in Heaven, and we cannot live in Heaven, while we are still in these bodies;Would it not seem feasible
that there may not be any oxygen in Heaven?

Another translation says this:

New International Version (©2011)
I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable

This makes plenty of sense to me as no one on this earth can live in the absence of oxygen. If heaven has no oxygen,we cannot live there, while we are in our present bodies.

Another thought is that we cannot live without water.About 75% of the earth's surface is water. Our cells in our bodies are made up of 70% water. This definately proves that our bodies came from the earth.

Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.(Genesis 2:7)

Other elements, found in the ground, can also be found in our bodies, such as sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus, just to name a few.

The book of Revelation states that there will be no more sea. (Revelation 21:1)

Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

How many of you have any thoughts on this? Since the elements and the chemistry of the New Heaven and the New Earth will change, and will be different, it is only logical that our bodies will also have to be different. By the way, there are no wrong or right answers. Only God knows for sure what he has in store for us after the Second Comming of Jesus.

This thought came to me after we had a mini cast party at someone's home yesterday,Easter Sunday. One question was asked. Do we live in a natural word,or do we live in a supernatural world?

I said that we live in a natual world, which is affected by the supernatrural realm.

Life ... I used to think that cremation was an attempt to deny the resurrection. But in reality, cremation doesn't cause God any problems. People have died in home fires for many centuries. The have gone down with ships and had their bodies scattered in the ocean currents. So God will resurrect everyone no matter what has happened to their bodies. That's what I think.

I intend on being cremated. My after life does not depend on the presence of my human body or else all those people who have bodies that have completely decomposed are in trouble. The idea of living in a body preserved by embalming fluid is even scarier, in my opinion..

I believe that we will have a perfect body...one that does not require oxygen since when deprived of oxygen cells die and there will be no death in heaven. However, just because we are not dependent on it, does not mean it will not be there. God created oxygen before He allowed death to enter the world.

That is a very valid point. Maybe God changed the chemical properties of oxygen to allow death to enter our world. In other words,if he can make it,he certinaly can change it.

For example,we can make ethanol( alcohol),which is drinkable. If we denature it by changing it to isoprol alcohol (rubbing alcohol),it would not be drinkable.

Even though I don't wish to be cremated, I agree with dayhiker that God will have no problem with it. No where in the bible does it speak against in, that I have read. Also God knit you together in your mother's womb before you needed oxygen, AND He created Adam out of the dust of the earth, so I don't think He will any issues of trying to get your "dust" to come together if that's what needs to happen. In any event, God's got cha covered.

Never really gave it a thought about their being oxygen or not. I believe our bodies (the new ones) are more spiritual and so more complete. Whether or not we have or need oxygen is an interesting thought, but it doesn't really matter to me.
