Will the Sabbath be a 'test of loyalty'?

Will the Sabbath be the defining factor in ones salvation? Many believers who are God fearing and upright do not observe Saturday as the Sabbath as scripture clearly gives to followers of Christ. Here is a very straightforward quote from Ellen White on the matter.

The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially controverted. When the final test shall be brought to bear upon men, then the line of distinction will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. While the observance of the false sabbath in compliance with the law of the state, contrary to the fourth commandment, will be an avowal of allegiance to a power that is in opposition to God, the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedience to God's law, is an evidence of loyalty to the Creator. While one class, by accepting the sign of submission to earthly powers, receive the mark of the beast, the other choosing the token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God.{GC 605.2}

So is the Sabbath a litmus test that will be clearly shown to be from God and sets Gods people those that truly love and follow Christ apart in the end?

What is with the ellen white posts? You're obsessed. All of your posts just quote Ellen white.
Yea; I have tried to warn them about that. Adventist beliefs are based on the Bible, and we teach that the Bible is first in doctrinal authority, not second or third. When one teaches that, it does not in any way denigrate the prophetic ministry of EGW

I observe the Saturday Sabbath, or at least I try too.
And I also go to my local church on sunday mornings.
I would be interested to hear more about why you do this? Do you have a particular denomination that you prefer to attend? What is the reason behind your participation in the seventh-day sabbath?

Sabbaths - as well as the rest of the law (or at least the 10 commandments, if you have an aversion of being "legalistic") will be tests of loyalty to God. Who will continue to follow His rules even after He gave us Grace, Mercy, and basically a "get out of hell free" card with Christ? Christ's "two laws" encompass the whole of the law - as He said. The first (loving God with all one's heart) covers all spiritually categorical laws - like no idol worship, holy days (including sabbaths,) mercy and love, and so on. The second law (love your neighbor/fellow human as you do yourself) is about morally categorical laws - don't murder, lust, covet, have mercy and patience, welcome the needy and feed/clothe the poor, cry with the depressed, laugh with the joyous, pity and comfort widows/widowers/children of widows/widowers, etc.)

Good points - I am thinking that we "follow His rules," not to get His grace, but because we have received it. Thats why the Bible calls it "free" or "freely," because we dont have to do anything to earn it, I should say, we cant do anything to earn it

The point is that we will choose to obey God or not. As christians that is where we fail.
Ex. 16:
4 Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.
A long time ago God choose the Sabbath as a test.

I like the way you put this in perspective with OT history. A very good point.

Short answer: YES.

Summary bullets:

The Sabbath is the pinnacle point of creation. It embodies the purpose of creation. It’s like this. From John 1 and Colossians 1 we learn that Christ created ALL things. So before creation began there was nothing – nothing but God. We learn from 1 John 4 that “God is love.” Being made, at some levels, in His likeness we have some experience and understanding of love. Love requires there be someone to love and to return love. Creation occurred that God could extend love to others, they return love to Him, and love could circulate throughout creation. Sabbaths are the point in time especially set aside (sanctified, hallowed) for that purpose and thus embodies the purpose of creation.

When Lucifer converted himself to Satan he took a dislike to anything that serves God’s purpose. So the Sabbath by that default becomes a target to fire upon.

It can serve as a “test” in a couple of ways. If a person as accepted God as his god whatever happens it is no test to him. Any pressures brought to bear on him only bonds him closer to God. If a person is not so committed to God then pressure on the Sabbath may be a crack exploited to pry on him.

Look at preparations for the 10th plague that was to come on Egypt as God was releasing His people. The blood of a lamb was applied to the lintel and doorposts of the homes of God’s people. That blood signaled the Death Angel to Passover that home. So the Death Angel “tested” each home for that evidence. The Sabbath can be expected to be used by those of Satan’s kingdom to identify his targets AND by the angels of the last plagues to know who to protect and passover.
