First this is not something I believe. It is something my friend who is a Protestant just told. So I want to know if God is going to speed up time for the "Elect". Here is what I was told: God is speeding up time for the elects sake lest no be saved.
"But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: for then shall be
Great Tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but
for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matthew 24:20-22)
"And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
the sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: and
it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Acts 2:19-21)
"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a
thousand two hundred and ninety days (first half of the GT). Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the
thousand three hundred and five and thirty days (secong half of the GT)." (Daniel 12:11-12)
"And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a
thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations
shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And
after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them." (Revelation 11)
we're given a number of days which the 7 years of GT is generally thought to compose; 1290 and 1335 (a difference of 45 days). it would appear that the reference to 'except those days be shorten' has to do with the first half of the GT. this appears to be the last 'call' to repentance, "that whosoever shall
call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
the second half of the GT is in regard to God's wrath, "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." (Revelation 14:9, 11-12)
"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." (Revelation 22:11)
there will come a time when it will be too late to
call upon the name of the Lord. once the 'elect' are numbered, we see this chilling prophecy: "And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to
make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him,
whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword.
Here is the patience and the faith of the saints." (Revelation 13:5-10)
not so much the length of days, but rather the Ancient of Days should be our concern.
