Well to start with the founding members of your naion were secular, with secular policy. My post was not an arrogant one, there is no evidence that God exists so I don't see why I should pull any punches while religion is responsible for so much misery. Now the reason that I think that what I believe in is true is because of common sense, like I come to the conclusion that 2+2=4.

It is only recently that we could say what the Bible says, "All things we see are made of the unseen", and indeed our reality is made up of more of the unseen than the seen. Of course it doesn't count when the Bible speaks of the "circle of the earth" over 2500 years ago.
The original books from the Bible were written by a semitic tribe thousands of years ago . . . to me it's just one of many ideas from that time of people trying to make sense of the world.

Ya know, God's laws are only two now with the New Covenant - Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, which is only fitting, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself, and that is the basic love we all give in nurturing and feeding our bodies to care for them - not a self-esteem issue.. I'm sure someone starving would rather feed their body long before their ego.
