Why Two Opposites In This Forum?

I agree. And you can't post in my forum OR post anything you don't like about what I post in YOUR forum. And if you don't agree with me, well then you're WRONG and posting lies about me because obviously I'M the one with all the truth.

And even though I believe I'm the one with the greater truth, which means I should be all the more patient with you, I'm going to make a big stink about it that you would dare to say you ever had a bad experience with someone who DOES believe like me (because clearly they must be right if they agree with me).

So instead of just ignoring the posts that don't agree with me, I'm going to whine and cry to mommy and the board admins so I don't have to play with those other meanies anymore.

Ok, so say we move WoF from under this umbrella and it becomes it's own full congregational forum. But does that take care of what people consider the WoF bashing? Because congregations can talk about other faith groups. I mean they should be following all board rules, but Catholics can talk about Baptists, or Baptists can talk about Catholic theology, etc.

Also, if there is a separate WoF congregation, does that mean then WoF would not post here in Spirit-Filled? Or would still want to post here?

Maybe, if this forum does not suit you, you need to open your own separate insulated forum where your beliefs will never be challenged and you can simply reinforce what you already believe, and do it with impunity.

I come to CF because, believe it or not, I learn from others, especially those who disagree with me, and I do not mind having my beliefs challenged. If I am wrong, I want to know it and if I am right, I need to know how to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints. Just hanging around clones like myself does little to change me. Personally, I want to be stretched. Just as iron sharpens iron, friends sharpen the minds of each other (Prov. 27.17).

I think its like with any congregational forum . Mods single out people who are not welcome there and give them warnings until they get the hint that this forum is not for them to debate in .

and i agree, i think these two kids need separate rooms .

The only thing I can see that might actually need to be done would be to change the discription of the debate forum and the name of the "non-wof" forum - the name is misleading.

Other than that, the kids will just have to learn to get along. I mean, what are they going to do in Heaven? Tell God they can't be in Heaven with these people who just can't seem to see things their way?

I think the bottom line is, yes, there are 2 separate forums. But there is one forum, the NON WOF that people can go to, start threads to bash people, doctrine of WOF, (I AM NOT WOF) or whatever, and there is nothing done about it. I think that is what the main issue is.

Yes, as I mentioned earlier in this thread by outlining the various forums that we already have "as seperated". We have policies and rules however they cannot change each spirit-filled believer as the rules tries to control people with expectations. Policies and rules are good at describing high standards of right behavior and relationships,but poor at giving real and merciful helping and guiding those who have not lived up to those expectations. We are still living in the flesh which tells us that "we do not yield and honor the Holy Spirit".

Spiritual liberty means the freedom to be all that we were designed to be, but this is not a freedom that is without restrictions or responsibilities. Grace is we live in the Spirit and also walk in the Spirit. Plainly speaking, without law, there could be no freedom. We are not only to live the deadness of our old life, we are also to recognize the new person who lives within us. The Holy Spirit dwells in us with all the power and gifts of God, necessary to enable us to walk the noble, spiritual, Son-like life with God. By grace He brings them into the family of God and starts the process of transforming them into the image of Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:28,29).

So, fruit of the spirit and grace are missing in our Christian practice today.

If those people are doing that, then they're probably doing it because they were genuinely hurt by a specific church. If I went to a baptist church and had a bad experience, I don't think anyone here would think twice about it if I posted my experience.

When a brother is hurting, even if we feel they are wrong, trying to shut them up isn't going to help anything.

meh, what was done for the traditional and progressive Seventh Day Adventists? each one got their own forum, did they not?

many people on all sides of the problem have been asking for separate but equal forums for all 4 of the faiths that have been bound together. it is being bound together that is creating the friction.
Loose us all so that we each have the space needed to breath and grow without being constantly irritated by others, and see if peace is not restored.

if it will help the mod staff, you might post a poll in the main forum, stickied, asking people which forum they would join if the 4 were split. the forum they chose would become their home forum. in the three other forums they could only make single posts in friendship.

if there are members who wish to gather together for ongoing dialogue with others, they could go to the appropriate forums in Ministry or in Theology to do so.
in that way friendships could continue and debate could also continue, but within already existing forums outside of Congregations, not within the home forums themselves.

The overriding purpose of the 4 new home forums would be for the care, education, and edification of the groups themselves, and that should be enough to keep the new forums active.

no one is saying not to voice their own hurt. BUT when a thread was made to bash a person and boast of reporting people, that is different. That is what is taken offense at.

I understand what is being taken offense at, but splitting up the charismatic forum which is made up of MUCH MORE THAN FOUR faith groups will not solve anything. When people say things we don't like, whether it be bashing or whatever, they have that right. It's freedom of speech, and as long as they're not disturbing YOUR freedom to do the same thing, then they should be allowed to continue to do so. Shutting them up is just WRONG. Two wrongs don't make a right.

You people are willing to punish ALL THE REST of the charismatic people because a handful of people won't get along. That ALSO is WRONG.

I'm sorry, but if you are that bent on having your own forum away from all the rest of the charismatics, then why don't you create your own instead of forcing what you want done on everyone else?

There are more than four groups represented here. If there's an "us vs. them" mentality, then I suggest it's coming from the people continuing to insist on having the forum split further.

I think setting up the debate forum was a way to try and assuage the WOF/ Non WOF controversy. It didnt work.

I think CHarismatic and Pentecostal are quite close, but WOF has clear and obvious differences with both.

What about a standalone congregational forum for WOF and another single standalone forum for Charismatic, pentecostal etc. Merge the debate forum into the new Charismatic/ Pentecostal super forum. One super forum for all Charismatic and Pentecostals and a seprate forum for WOF>

Once WOF has their own area, I think debates will dry up. It would be better for them WOF folks also, they could share their own beliefs and teachings in peace.

Bashing a person is wrong. Bashing doctrine is encouraged.

The main problem is that WoF don't want their doctrine to be bashed, even on someone elses forum.
