Perusing here from time to time it seems to consist of games or diversions. Does that imply the 50+people feel irrelevant/passed by/uninvolved with issues relevant to our age group from a biblical perspective?

I wonder your opinion / curiosity (?)
While it is true, that many pairs of eyes, can view 'a subject / event' quite-differently (from one another)
The function, of 'experience' (of it _our forums) ~one to another actually-does, achieve 'something'
Do you not SEE 'this' ?

Our minds are not 'still' ~they continue to function
We converse, and extrapolate 'something' from each previous post
we 'consider' those and offer replies, that induce interest and cooperation
Do you not SEE 'this' ?

We have Stickied, those 'threads' that we consider 'important' to our lives
and, we do not "PLAY" in those....
Below those mainstay threads, we SHARE... our knowledge and feelings ~OURSELVES

There are OTHER FORUMS, for those
'more-specific' subjects you-mention and seem-to IMPLY are 'missing here'
I go to 'SPECSAVERS'
iow: I see biblical references everywhere within our forums

Hi John, nice to see you.

I certainly don't feel irrelevant or passed by and we sometimes have had discussions about issues concerning the over fifties, but maybe, at our time of life, we don't feel we need to hammer out things as younger people do. I think that is natural. Perhaps we have reached some understanding of our stance on Biblical issues (such as disputable matters) and know we can agree to differ, so there is no need to discuss them. The main thing is to proclaim the gospel, which I hope we are doing through our Bible verses thread.

I have been a member of GE for 8 years, and one of the things I have thanked God for (and prayed for), over the years, is the nice spirit of the forum. We occasionally have had differences (we're human!) but they have been amazingly rare for a group of people from different countries and cultures. As Dave has said we have our more serious sections, including prayer support and Bible verses, but it is also a place to relax. In doing so however we have built up strong cyber-friendships and a sense of fellowship, which is of immense value. It reminds me of Psalm 133:

How good and pleasant it is
when brothers live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron's beard,
down upon the collar of his robes.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life for evermore.

But, how I do recall; a past experience, of, such 'enquiries'
and when, I read the OP
I immediately posed myself the question ¬v
"Why then do they not see what is really happening here " ?

When we 'fly-by' someone else's 'field' and scan it (at face-value)
we do not always see the ground being opened ~to be further-tilled. by 'Winter's frosts'
Nor, do we always see, the Labour employed in 'furrowing and fertilising' and, in the 'planting of seed'
Given good-weather and God's blessings, our crops grow in monochromic fashion
~and then all folks see, is, a sea, of ... 'same-old, same-old'
~the 'fine details', are so-often hidden to, the very-brief visits, of, others

We Eagles, have our various histories and indeed, 'across the years' we have, disclosed (shared)
some of our history with other Eagles and, having done-so, can associate 'personalities',
with 'the usernames' that we see, onscreen

I wonder
"Does the priest at their local church, not run a Tombola, a Church Fete, a Jumble Sale, a Children's Party" ??
(rhetorical question) Of course they do

"Are there no bible-classes here " ?
(rhetorical question) Of course there are

Examining 'other churches' in a comparative manner (using a nitcomb) is not very Christian, after-all

I agree that there is more underneath the surface, Dave.

John, as Dave says, you are not the only one to ask the question, but I hope our answers help. Of course, you could always start a thread yourself if you felt there was an issue which needs discussing.
