Why the pages won't load

I'm getting pretty irked about it. It's not my computer either. It's every computer I access this site on. I open up a thread and the first post is the only one that will load. And it takes FOREVER for it to load the rest of the posts. Sometimes it never loads the other posts and just stops. I'm getting really tired of it. It doesn't do it all of the time either, but when it does, it bugs me. It will do it for whole weeks in a row and I just get tired of refreshing the same page ever 2 minutes. Can something be done about this? It's definitely not my computer! Thanks in advance.

I could, but I figured out that it could be because a lot of anti virus programs block the ads and keep them from loading. And I've googled a few of the sites that were blocked and I figured out where all the spyware trafficing on my computer came from. But I think that's it. Because it always stops loading where the ads are. But I don't know if anyone else is having this problem... however, I do think that you should have a little bit of concern with the ads and the drive by downloads. I know theres been issues with the ad filters and everything but sheesh. If you still want to know what it looks like, I can go and get a shot now.

Theres another thread with a screenshot and that same thing happens to me. This also happens where it only loads the first post and then stops.. at the bottom of my browser it notes that its just loading the ad but it never loads. EVER. And it just sits there until i refresh it a billion times. And as I said, I had problems with it on other computers too.

So I really.. REALLY think that its the ads because of where it stops loading and the "transfering data" thing at the bottom of the browser gets stuck there. I'm pretty sure that is what it is. It's really annoying.

I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with this problem. I have to refresh regularly to see more than the first post, and sign in constantly to respond in any thread. I use Firefox and I don't know if that is part of the problem or not. But with all the new graphic adds on CF, I guess that's more likely to be the major issue.

A couple members have complained in the open forums about load times. I have found the new CF to be fast, so I was confused. I guess the ads are responsible (ads are disabled for me).

So I guess the question is, is our only option to pay money and become a site supporter? Or will something be done to make it more usable for the rest of us. Because frankly, I'm not going to become a site supporter any time soon. And I would imagine these issues are causing new members to walk away in search of something more stable as well.

This has been occuring to me just the same, since I have become a member recently on Christian Forums.

And I do appreciate the original Op for posting this and others who come to follow in letting CF now this is occuring to you as well.

tag.contextweb.com and pixel.quantserve.com are the two ad sites that the page ALWAYS freezes on. Those are the only two. Filter those out and you're good to go. Those sites are INFAMOUS for freezing pages.

Yep. I blocked those two sites and it's MUCH better. It still freezes occasionally, but not nearly as often.
