why the Bible says death is better than life?

But, it doesn't say that. It says the day of death is better than the day of birth.

Think about the whole message Solomon shares in the Book of Ecclesiastes from the point of view of a man who has clearly lost his way.

If you just think about it for a little bit you will understand from a spiritual perspective, a newborn has not experienced the sin and degradation of this world, but as he/she lives and grows those experiences comes upon him and do not stop until the day of death.
