CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about and I just jumped into the conversation, I just saw this and wanted to give a scripture. Don't know if it helps the conversation but just wanted to give scripture.

I'm not going to take your word on it because I haven't done the research to see if that's true, but that doesn't even matter, because if you read the other qualifications, you know the role are for men.


"....husband of one wife.....rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence.....(for if a MAN does not know how to rule his own house, ho will he take care of the church of God?)....moreover he must have a good testimony..."​
It is very gender specific.

And if you go into Titus 1:6 again see what it says
"If a man is blameless, the husband of one wife..."

I'm trying to be a pharmacist. What's your point? I have applied to Pharmacy Tech jobs but so far it's a no go. I'm still trying though.

If you're question is, Do I agree with what is said in pharmacology that's different because I actually have studied chemistry (yeah I know there is more to pharmacy then chemistry).

When it comes to scripture, I don't automatically believe what someone tells me. I have to do research on it, that's just me and my philosophy.

I don't know if that person is wrong or right about what was said...I just haven't done the research to say that I agree with someone. But you're right, the surrounding scripture does support that the role is for a man.

I understand what you're saying, but when it comes to pharmacology I can go and do research on a pill before I actually take it. When it comes to the word of God, I don't automatically believe what someone tells me until I do the research on it myself. That's just the way I am.

You're using the word like "lying" and "truth" as if I've already made up my mind. I did not. I said I would not take her word for it because I haven't studied it. Why would I agree with something I know nothing about?

If it make you feel any better, I went to this website to check out the Greek text of the verses in both 1 Timothy 3:1 ( http://biblos.com/1_timothy/3-1.htm ) and Titus 1:6{ Titus 1:6 Greek Texts and Analysis } what she said checked out so far. I can also see why that word was translated "man" because of the surrounding text around it.

I'm going to go to my preacher who speaks Greek and ask him about it as well, just so I can get another opinion because If you look at 1 Timothy 3:5 on there 1 Timothy 3:5 Greek Texts and Analysis the word that is "tis" in Greek is translated "man" so I don't know why it's translated "any" for the one in 1 Timothy 3:1 but man in verse 5, but that's a question I'll ask him.

I was pointing out the specific verse y'all...Pleeeease I looked it up in Greek...SU you know I am a hellenistic Greek instructor and I agree that the verses daydreamer brought up indeed it says man

I was just clarifying that verse no harm to it. I was NOT lying that is what it actually says . Did you look it up??

But I already knew that there are other verses that speak of a man.... Just wanted though others to knwo that specific verse is a pronoun common to masculine and feminine
