I don't think anyone cares. It doesn't matter.
But inquiring minds want to know. I want to know. I think Znr does too.
I'd be interested to know so I can understand what made you give up your faith which you held so deeply before. I'd be interested to know what made you give that up.
I will, then. Ok. Tomorrow, when I have some time. I just hope I'm not judged after I do so.
Cool! I'm lookin' forward to this!
Lol! Get your popcorn
Jk!
It's not an exciting story. But I'll share tomorrow.
The one thing I've learned through it all is that as a Christian, I greatly misunderstood atheism.
I actually enjoyed my life following Christianity. It didn't seem empty at the time.
I don't think anyone cares. It doesn't matter.
What did you understand atheism to be when you were Christian?
That atheists were on average vocal about being against religion, unhappy and cynical. Of course, some are this way, but overall, I view atheism as freeing and not at all interested in taking religious people away from religion. It's just interested in logic, reason and truth.
I care.
I will, then. Ok. Tomorrow, when I have some time. I just hope I'm not judged after I do so.
Sounds good. Of course, I have to have a follow-up question. What if the truth leads you to see that God is real?
Never. No judgement. Again I'm sorry about earlier. After you called me out I realized that what's bothering me has nothing to do with CF. I was projecting and being unreasonable. I do want to listen to your story.
I don't have a track record for taking shots at atheists. But lately some of these threads are testing my patience. The same goes for some of the threads here posted by believers. I think at this point it's safe to say I'm lacking patience and grace.
Why does an atheist wish to discuss god on a religion forum>>???
Is it like trolling?
I mean what this does is it dilutes the ability of Christians to connect with other Christians
as the pagans atheists and so on crowd the board ...
Is this the objective?
Christ is the genetic father of the Anglo [angel] peoples.
That makes Christ the spiritual and genetic father of these people.
Other tribes have other gods.
We who are the offspring of Christ love our father and mother for the gift we have been given by pleasing their vision of our happiness as well as incorporating our own added insight
''woman?''
I know you think that atheists hold up themselves as gods of sorts. Like I decide what is good and true. But, you'd be wrong to think that, Jeremy. The truth is, that what is good and right is how we view humanity. What is good and right in terms of how to benefit others, how to use our lives in services to others, etc.
Is this merely a religious tenet? Atheists can live meaningful, productive and compassionate lives in service to others, yanno.
I know your story prior to you coming to Christianity. But, your story is your own. Not every atheist thinks that because there may be no god, this is license to pursue mayhem. lol Just food for thought. Open thy mind. lol
You are a woman. That is why I referred to you as a woman.
Secondly, you said what I said. What is Good and productive in your view is determined by what humans say. So if a person thinks being good and living a productive life can be done without believing in God, then they do not see belief in God as necessary for being good and productive.
When you respond to a male poster, do you begin with; "Man"?
are you a cave man?You are a woman. That is why I referred to you as a woman.

So, do you believe that you need to believe in a god in order to do good in this world? If so, that is your choice, but theists and atheists have much in common in terms of wanting to live valuable, productive lives helping others. Theism didn't invent altruism.
I'm not sure "altruism" exist, theistic or atheistic. Early Greek theories of altruism all boil down to "enlightened self-interest," and the same can be argued for all theistic concepts as well.
