how can one who has not seen believe or not believe what they have not seen? what if a person decides Christ is not real and yet by the very person they are they are to some degree correctly seeking the kingdom of God in one manner or another?
how can one who has not seen believe or not believe what they have not seen? what if a person decides Christ is not real and yet by the very person they are they are to some degree correctly seeking the kingdom of God in one manner or another? sometimes it is better for one to not be caught up in religion seeing as how the greatest snares are probably from that which is closest to the truth. obviously the religion of Christianity, though it has more often than not fallen very short of Jesus Christ, would be a choice place wherein to make war with and trap others in pits. wolves in sheeps clothing are far more dangerous than some lone wolf far away from sheep. those lone wolves often walk by deer and do not attack them but instead choose to pluck fish out of the river and eat their heads... leaving the rest of the body for some starving human. reality is FAR more complex than a simple "he is either a wolf or a sheep".
in each person there is a battle of the inner devils vs Christ and just because a man may stumble in the ideas of religion does not mean he stumbles in loving others. a christian might understand some things that others do not and yet stumble in other respects. so what advantage has one over the other? CHRISTIANS have the advantage, or at least they should and yet so many of us get caught up in various follies that atheist tend to avoid due to them simply not walking the paths we walk. they might have different dangers to face but we are all equal in this race of good vs evil. we all pick whatever we want according to our capacities and abilities.
do not forget that our battle is not with flesh and blood but with evil spirits that influence people to do evil in various ways. a man that does good is being lead by good angels. all good things are gifts from God. we all fall short and we are all works in progress.
John 20:29--Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed."
Is it your position then, that non-believers do more evil in their life than say; Christians?
And, give me an example of doing evil?
I never saw that verse in the way I now see it. :0
I can never kill (not literally ) a individual PERSON and slander them by putting them into abstract ideas of 'this group of people is more evil than this group'. because groups of people are not real things like a person is a real thing. it comes down to each individual to express if they are more or less evil or good. I could say that this or that group of people have this specific kind of good angel and this or that kind of evil angel set over them but that can never fully describe the entire world of a individual person, it only describes certain kinds of influences they have or abide with.
evil is a very large term and has various ranks of evil in its kingdom. sin is a veil that blinds one from spiritual reality and sin starts as a perception of reality and then from the heart come forth either good or evils. examples of doing evil range from:
the atheist leader that killed MILLIONS of religious monks in tibet because "religion is evil".
to
the religious leader that decided it was a good idea to hand over to the state those people deemed heretics and for them to be tortured over what they believed to be true.
those are very evil things but there are also subtle evils in a person such as not loving everyone and thus one nation of people decides it is a good idea to continue to make war and oppress a nation they should have never messed with to begin which then caused them to fly two planes into some buildings.
to
there is another evil where a religious zealot thinks he is doing God a favor for blowing people up with planes that in reality had nothing to do with oppressing some of his fellow citizens other than them happening to live in a certain nation which oppressed some of the people in the terrorist own nation.
it was a very evil thing for the religious zealot to blindly listen to his religious leaders and being promised with BULL just to be a weapon of an evil cause. just the same it is a great evil for a solider to go and murder innocent children with drones just because they need a paycheck and because they are "defending freedom"... for it is a very evil thing to bow your knee to evil man of any type of life style.
That was a lot for a very simple question.
In general, do you feel atheists do more evil than Christians? Yes, or no.
you ought to know that I just told you that there is no simple 'yes or no' answer because reality is not black and white. individual PEOPLE are whatever color they choose to be. there is no generalizing the truth of a person without killing and distorting their image. you are asking me to call all people more or less good based on one tiny flake of who they are. it is not wise to judge a person in such a manner, in fact it is EVIL to think in that kind of manner about another.
i don't know who 'atheist' or 'christian' is. but no one is a group of people. no one is an abstract idea. they are each living ideas of freedom bound to some degree to the necessity of the designs of this reality.
or here is an answer closer to yes or no:
NO. I do not feel that atheist or christians in general are better than one or the other. it comes down to who they choose to be that makes them more or less evil. but there is no such thing as an atheist or a christian. they are meaningless titles to me.
i'm curious as to how you would answer your own question?
I wasn't suggesting such pure intentions, but you're welcome to your beliefs.Just like a doctor telling his patient take this medicine or have this operation or you will die.
I believe one should care why God exists, in the same manner why one cares for one's parents' existence. God creates us, that makes Him our real Father. Just as we do not forget our parents who give us birth, we also must not forget God, who is the reason why we exist, and live.
