• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Paul’s Gospel

When the rebel and renegade named Saul of Tarsus became Paul the apostle he was a changed man. (Paul’s name is changed in Acts 13:9 and afterwards he is always referred to as Paul) Look at what he says about the message he preached:

Galatians 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Galatians 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

When the Lord first appeared to Paul on the road to Damascus in Acts chapter nine He had specifically said to him:

Acts 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

So when Paul refers to the “abundance of visions and revelations” from the Lord we can certainly understand what he is talking about. As a matter of fact, some fourteen years after the Lord had first appeard to Paul he received yet another revelation from Jesus Christ that he should go to Jerusalem and share with Peter and the others the message the Lord had revealed to him. Here is where Paul writes about that:

Galatians 2:1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.
Galatians 2:2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

To find the “gospel that Paul preached,” read 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. You will find Paul saying that “I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received.” This is the gospel Paul preached and 14 years AFTER he received it, the Lord instructed Paul to go to Jerusalem and share it with Peter and the others. They had never heard it before!

Weren't they also the sons/children of Israel? :wave:

(Young) Acts 9:15 And the Lord said unto him, `Be going on, because a choice vessel to Me is this one, to bear My Name before nations and kings--the sons also of Israel
(Young) Hosea 13:14 From the hand of Sheol I do ransom them, From death I redeem Them [Israel/Judah], Where [is] thy plague, O death? Where thy destruction, O Sheol? Repentance is hid from Mine eyes.
All ministry in the house of God is of divine appointment, on whatever level it may be. Only the Holy Ghost can do these things. There is no such thing in the Kingdom of God as appointment to ministry by human authority or hierarchy. Neither is there such a thing as a self-constituted ministry of a man’s own choosing. None but God can make or appoint a ministry of any sort or description. Even in Old Testament times Yahweh called Moses and appointed Aaron and his sons to the priesthood; and if a stranger presumed to meddle with the functions of those so appointed, he was put to death.

Please look at the Jerusalem Council where Paul told them the gospel given to HIM...why would he have to tell them if they already knew what it was?

Please stick to the topic...Im tired of you switching the focus on every thread.

This is what this thread is dealing with.
