CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I found out about this forum from an article about insane things written on Christian message boards. Things like the King James Bible is the only and original version of the Bible, Humans did not evolve from apes becasue apes don't live that long, and other such silliness. I joined to see if people on these types of boards really believed those things. But I stuck around because people on here really seemed genuine and nice and I wanted to interect with them.
For the most part my orginal prejudice was unfounded and after having access to the boards, which I could only access by being a memeber, I found that the quotes were probably jokes.
Though I started with disingenious intentions I really do like the board now.

Not really. I don't like forced gaiety. I'm also a vomit a phobe so I don't go out on big drinking holiday, especially when I'm certain the vomit I would see would be green, ruining my favorite color.
