I prefer using Ussher's dates for the sake of Occam's razor.Ussher's date is the most famous, but many other people have made similar calculations or rely on traditions.
The current Jewish calendar puts year 1 at 3761 BC
And depending which Bible manuscript you prefer, later Christian calculations cluster around either 4000 BC or 5500 BC.

The only other ancient calendar I know of is the Chinese calendar which only goes back to 2637 BC.

When comparing the date of the earth to how long it has been in existence, what's a hundred years or so going to make a difference? You may have mistaken popularity for simplicity.
And a time. Without checking, so I could be completely wrong, but I think it was something like 9.10am on a Tuesday morning.Anglican bishop Ussher, I think. Creation at 404 BC. I think they even had a month and a day for it.
Ignoring, or just not knowing about, certain basic facts = ignorance, not simplicity.I prefer using Ussher's dates for the sake of Occam's razor.
