thanksour son has Attention Deficit Disorder and that sounds like how he functions without his herbs to help his focus. But I also think that most people have that tendency, so no worries, just keep yielding more and more of yourself to God and ask Him to continue working on you.
not sure that is worthy of a thanks, but you have grown dear to my heart and I am praying for you all throughout the day. May your light shine bright as God fills you with His Love.thanks
the only way to know the intent of a passage is through context. The context here is of a wedding banquet in which guests came without being properly dressed....(NIV)What does it mean in the Bible when it say's that many are called but few are chosen?
I want to be able to to. I want to want to have a relationship with Him. I just... I don't know what is stopping me to be honest.the only way to know the intent of a passage is through context. The context here is of a wedding banquet in which guests came without being properly dressed....(NIV)
Once more Jesus spoke to them in parables: 2 “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent out his slaves to summon those invited to the banquet, but they didn’t want to come. 4 Again, he sent out other slaves, and said, ‘Tell those who are invited: Look, I’ve prepared my dinner; my oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’
5 “But they paid no attention and went away, one to his own farm, another to his business. 6 And the others seized his slaves, treated them outrageously and killed them. 7 The king[a] was enraged, so he sent out his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned down their city.
8 “Then he told his slaves, ‘The banquet is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9 Therefore go to where the roads exit the city and invite everyone you find to the banquet.’ 10 So those slaves went out on the roads and gathered everyone they found, both evil and good. The wedding banquet was filled with guests.[b] 11 But when the king came in to view the guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed for a wedding. 12 So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?’ The man was speechless.
13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him up hand and foot,[c] and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”
Scripture tells us to clothe ourselves in righteousness. This is in preparation for the wedding feast of the Lamb aka Jesus. IOW's it goes along with the passage that says not everyone who calls me Lord Lord. Look, I know you are looking for an excuse, but the truth is, no one can help you, not even God until or unless you are willing to yield yourself to Him and all the hurt, pain, etc. that allows you to continue to think that you are not worthy, that you have not been chosen, etc. The truth is, you have been called, if you answer that call and yield to Him all that you are, you will be accepted, because you are beloved enough to be desired and called and Loved unto righteousness.

I have a guess but it wouldn't be pleasant to hear and could get me in trouble for flaming even though it is something we all battle and as such seems tame to me personally. Bottom line though is that whether I am right in my suspicions or not, until you leave your pain and heartache on Jesus, He can't give you the peace that you seek. You have to let go of the things you are holding onto and let Him have them, they aren't yours, they are His, you are just holding on to it as if it is yours.I want to be able to to. I want to want to have a relationship with Him. I just... I don't know what is stopping me to be honest.
things are seeming to just get harder. i feel like my heart is just stubborn and hardened but ive felt like this since i was younger abd have prayed for God to soften my heart and give me an understanding heart. its just i like i want the realationship with him and my mind is willing but my hearrt is being stubborn.
asking Him to soften your heart is one thing, allowing Him to do so is quite another.things are seeming to just get harder. i feel like my heart is just stubborn and hardened but ive felt like this since i was younger abd have prayed for God to soften my heart and give me an understanding heart. its just i like i want the realationship with him and my mind is willing but my hearrt is being stubborn.
what do you mean?asking Him to soften your heart is one thing, allowing Him to do so is quite another.
sometimes, we ask God for things that we think sound "right" when in fact what God wants from us is something else. For example, I want our church to grow in the Lord...what God wanted was to grow me. To show me what true faith is. My guess is that you are asking God to change you but are refusing (based on some of our conversations) to let Him have control over those areas of your life. It would be like me asking my husband to fix my computer but refusing to allow him to have access to it. You can ask God to "fix" all that you want, but if you don't give HIm access to it, how is He going to fix it?what do you mean?

let go of it...let Him do what He does best. There isn't some magic formula, there isn't some secret you don't know. You simply let Him have all of you and your fears and identity, your pains and joys and in that, discover who He intends for you to be.how do i give Him access.
so, I told you I would be around until we figured this out and I was thinking and praying for you just this AM....so let's explore this another way. When you don't want a relationship, why don't you? What about a relationship is a hangup for you?Hello, I haven't been on here lately but I just wanted to write an update. I am not really sure what is going on with me . I seem to be becoming completely emotionally numb to this whole situation. I do still have the gospel in the back of my mind and it is something I think and pray about every day that the Lord will hep me get through this valley. Some days it seems like i am ready for a real relationship with Him and then other days it seems like I just want to have eternal life but no relationship. That makes me sad to think about because I want to want to have a relationship with Him.
