You have accused them of being unbelievers since you said that only unbelievers were afraid. And for once you had a valid point. That explains why they are so afraid to learn what evidence is.
Seriously, what other excuse would there be for them to not learn what evidence is? They would get the evidence that they asked for. It is not difficult. It is within their mental ability.

Creationists demand evidence. To undersdtand the evidence provided, creationists would have to learn what evolution actually is. They say no, they don't want to understand, and therefore don't understand the evidence provided. Since they don't understand the evidence, they claim no evidence has been provided.

You haven't even given any scripture with the term soul in it, it says breath of life in Genesis, not breathed in soul.
