  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Time for some positive stereo-typing; I like Gays because they're considerate, open, and trustworthy. They're also snappy dressers, and great dancers. What I admire about them most however is their strength and courage. What about you?

Are you only wishing to stereotype male homosexuals today? :p

Uhmm, uh, er, errr, uh, I, uh, um,

it's comin' to me, huhhhgh, um,

I, uh, umm, wheeeewww, let's see . . .

Ummm, ELTON JOHN's Yellow Brick Road Album.

Yup, that's it.

WELL, I could really get off being in your shoes
I used to be stone sold on rhythm and blues
A heard of a place at the back of town
Where you really kick the shhh when the sun goes down

I really got buzzed when your sister said
"Throw away them records `cause the blues is dead
Let me take you honey where the scene's on fire"
And tonight I learned for certain that the blues expired

Oh your sister can't twist but she can rock and roll
Out bucks the broncos in the rodeo-do
She's only sixteen but it's plain to see
She can pull the wool over little old me
Your sister can't twist but she can rock and roll
Your sister can't twist but she got more soul than me

Somebody help me `cause the bug bit me
Now I'm in heaven with the aching feet
But I'll be back tonight where the music plays
And your sister rocks all my blues away

I really got buzzed when your sister said
"Throw away them records `cause the blues is dead
Let me take you honey where the scene's on fire"
And tonight I learned for certain that the blues expired

Of course that was written by Bernie Taupin.

My gay housemate was cleanest tidiest person I have ever lived with, and I wish he'd stayed longer. He was also an incredibly snappy dresser. I don't think I've ever met anyone quite as coordinated as him :)

So, if he wouldn't have sex with guys and married you, wouldn't you be the lucky one!;)

Why on earth would you think that? I wouldn't marry someone becuase they kept the house clean. If I wanted that I'd get a maid.
Does your ex-room-mate hire out as a house cleaner?

Hey, someone gave me the album. It was a week before we played at a docked Cruise ship gig.

That song rocks.

Other than that . . .

Awww...c'mon PcF, you can squeeze out something nice to say about Gay people.

P.S. One of the reasons I started this thread was you seemed to be full of misery and vinegar this morning, thought it might lighten you a bit. ;)

I used to feel gay quite a lot, then someone showed me a copy of The Advocate.

Now I'm "ecstatic" a lot.

I know it sounds cliche, but one of the best friends I have in my life "came out" in his late thirties, and he is a great person with great taste in great beers. (He's also a great theologian. He opposes same-sex marriage 100%.)

Though, as much as I love him, I don't have more than two beers with him at any given time. It's not "that kind" of love, for me.

People are people Gary, I try not to look at them as anything else.

This either suggests that you expect him to rape you if you're drunk, or that you fear you might be tempted..?

You'd rather pay for a maid service? :D You said you liked the guy because of this and that. As long as he seems like good father material, why not marry him. Sounds stable and you would have to worry about him fooling around on the sly-----which is more then can be said about people one may pick up at a bar.;)
