Brother Nathanael Kapner claims to be an Eastern Orthodox Christian of the Greek Jurisdiction. Some may find he has too much to rant on about, especially at Lent!

But he makes for some interesting reading. Some of it cuts very close to the quick. :o I do not necessarily agree with or condone what he says and is doing.

This is posted for interest sake only and I make no claims to any kind of association with this Brother Nathanael Kapner. Please don't stone the messenger, I just pointed this out to the Board.

It's like a streak of convertitis I've never seen before, with the whole badmouthing your original confession after you convert kinda thing.

This guy, Milton Kapner (alias "Brother Nathanael") isn't even Orthodox...

He was received and baptized in the OCA a few years ago when he converted, but left the Church. Then he joined a vagant group (ROAC), where he was "baptized" again and joined their "monastery" in Colorado under Gregory George (self-proclaimed Archbishop Gregory of Denver).

Some time later, Kapner came to blows (literally) with Gregory George, left that group and became a "street-preaching monk" on his own.

All in all, this guy is a total nutt. He is neither a priest nor a monk.

Here's some information about Gregory George, from Al Green's website:

Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church in America - Buena Vista, CO. Their history of their existence is a sight for sore eyes to read. Click here for The History of the Russian Orthodox Autonomous Church. According to sources, this is a schismatic group which, under the leadership of convicted child-molester Valentin Rusantsov (Met. Valentin of Suzdal), left the ROCOR on the pretext that the ROCOR was "ecumenist." Their exarch here is a fanatic named Gregory George (Bishop Gregory of Colorado). He was an Antiochian. He decided the Antiochians were ecumenists, so he went to ROCOR. He decided the ROCOR was populated with ecumenists, so he went to the Old Calendarists under Chrysostomos II. He decided the Old Calendarists were ecumenists, so he went to another Old Calendarist sect under Kallinikos. Kallinikos decided they wouldn't make George a Bishop, so he went to ROAC, and got made a Bishop. (If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!) This so-called autonomous "church" is more fanatical than the Matthewites. And they are also associated with the old Name-Worshipping heresy.

Later, Gregory George left ROAC, petioned two Greek noncanonical Old-Calendarist groups (the kiousites and the lamnians) to join their ranks, and after being rejected by both, he founded his own group: the Genuine Orthodox Church of America...

Lord, have mercy.

Kapner even was under the JP for a few months but left after Ireneous was ousted. His blog is more about gossip than anything.
A true religious wacko with not much knowledge of Orthodoxy.

Wowzaa. Besides the two minutes of my life that I will never get back, is there any way to remove any contact info from this website? I don't want them or him or whatever to get fasle notions of his popularity.
