Dear Daily Message Readers,
READ: Matthew 28
Matthew 28:7 (NIV) The angel said to the women, Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified"
Warren Webster, writing in his 1980 book HIS, told the story of a former Muslim who converted to Christianity. Some of his friends asked him, "Why have you become a Christian?" He answered, "Well, its like this. Suppose you were going down the road and suddenly the road forked in two directions, and you didn't know which way to go, and there at the fork in the road were two men, one dead and one alive--which one would you ask which way to go?"
After asking the question, the man commented the one who was alive. Webster, knowing how close his friend was, said, Yes, you are correct. I follow the One is alive and risen, and His name is Jesus (Christianglobe.com).
Without the Easter Bunny and hard-boiled eggs, nearly 35% of the American population would not understand the true meaning of Easter. As Christians, we know the true meaning of Easter concerns the resurrection of Jesus Christ (the Man who is still alive, not the one who is dead). He died on the Roman cross and rose again on the third day so we might have eternal life and forgiveness of our sins (Romans 6).
Despite this, most people feel it is tradition to attend church on Easter Sunday. Maybe a family member or friend took them in their childhood, or they find the drama and the music to be inspiring. Whatever the reason, when the service ends and Holy Week with it, they do not make habit to attend regular worship.
Romans 1:16 "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. "
Are you ready to share about the resurrection of Jesus? Then ask God to speak to those who are without Jesus this Easter season. Ask God to use your life and your church to reach out even past this glorious day. Finally, pray that unsaved individuals on your list would be receptive to the love and service you show them even after today. Faith Lesson: Easter is for all people, not just Christians.
In Christ,
Darin Smith
