God Intervened with the Hebrew in Exodus. So why does God do nothing for every other atrocity?

God didn't stop the Khmer Rouge, it took the fellow Communists in N Vietnam to end them. He didn't stop the Holocaust or Armenian genocide.

So what are you suppose to gather from this inactivity? It's no surprise deism and Gnosticism became beliefs.

Flavius, you should read all of the OT to see why God did what He did then; and you should read the NT to see what God has done and is doing in this age. Let me suggest you first believe the Creator-God of the universe knows what He is doing and is doing all things very well. He wants us to learn and then get into conformity to Him and His eternal knowledge and wisdom ---who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. When one humbles himself before God and reads the history from creation and up to this day, all things will become clear.

Man is born in sin and so is self-indulgent and wants to go his own way. God in mercy gives man trials and allows the evil to continue to humble man to surrender his stubborn ways, and bow to God. He made us to be His children and wants us to learn to love and obey Him, and He will preserve forever those who receive Him through His "...beloved Son" --the Lord Jesus, the Christ of God.

See salvation in the Gospels, and learn of mercy, grace, and love of God in all the New Testament we have. I recommend you begin with a reading in John's gospel, and when and if you believe and trust God's Word, you will open the door of grace and begin to learn much as a true believer. God wants to teach us His pathway to blessings now and for eternity, and Satan (called the evil god of this world) wants us to turn from God and follow his own heart and desires. Man has much to learn, and should never challenge or doubt God. He has given us His immutable Word for our understanding of as much as He wants us to know. Look up always! Write me anytime if you are a humble and sincere seeker after God and His way.

The thing is though, we look with disdain if someone with the power to stop evil let's it happen. If an armed cop watched as a rape took place and used the excuse that it's a humbling experience for the woman who wouldn't hate that person? God is in that position, someone who watches evil and let's it happen despite having the power to stop it.

It's even worse if you look into the past and see God supposedly helped the Hebrew with direct intervention. So I'm afraid "re read your bible" doesn't offer a strong answer.

WA I'll watch those videos tomorrow I have papers due and this can be the only response for the moment.

Well, you need not respond unless you want to, Flavius, but if you choose to doubt the Holy Bible as given to us (i.e. the KJV which has been studied by scholars down through many years and found to be sound) then one is left in the dark to believe whatever they wish. That is not wise, when God tells us all that He holds us responsible for. I will not try to second-guess my God and suppose He left mankind in the dark about fundamental and essential things. When one compares all the Word of God in the OT with the NT, a spiritual and faithful reader will see somewhat why God has done what He did as shown in His Word. Everything else we might wonder about should be left alone, and trust God, which will suffice God. I must conclude: GOD DOES ALL THINGS WELL!

That's a question that requires a lifetime of experience, reflection, and questioning... until you eventually learn to become okay with the absence of a simplified answer.

If God were to intervene to stop those atrocities, then you could ask the same question about atrocities that weren't quite as bad as those, and so forth down the line until you ask about why God doesn't intervene to stop people from stubbing their toes. Furthermore, if God created a world where everyone could only experience either joy or great joy, then why wouldn't God intervene to prevent us from having the lesser experience? So the question boils down to wondering why God didn't create us in some sort of stasis field where we could have no change of experience. If God wants us to do good, then He needs to allow there to be situations that are not good so that there is good available for us to do, otherwise we would quite literally be good for nothing. The other problem with that question is that you have no way to know whether a certain amount of suffering is unjustified or whether God has acted to prevent greater atrocities than the ones you listed.

God does not intervene directly to prevent or stop evil. That will only happen at the second coming.

God gave man free will. It is man who prevents evil when he turns to God. In the hebrew exodus it was when moses turned to God that God indirectly intervened theough moses.

If we want God to act in our world to prevent evil first we must turn to God and then allow God to indirectly intervene through us.

Its not always easy often the task can seem impossible look at how many times the egyptians refused moses and God. Its a battle a war but if we continue to have faith and to do those battles in the end victory is ours both in this life and the life to come
