  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I feel like shooting myself right now. I left all my stuff from school in my dad's car, thinking that I would come out and get it later to do all my homework. But my dad drove away with it to his company and came back with a company car because he had to do something with it in the morning. Now all my stuff is there, my parents are extremely angry ( i dont want to talk to them in the morning) and theyre forcing me to go to school without anything. I feel like being sucked up in a black hole.

Bro, I'm praying that you'll get out of the slump you're in right now, and that you'll get over these things that, in the long run, are trivial. So you didn't have a backpack today? Big deal! Believe it or not, I've done MUCH stupider things! So, just take a breather, and, if you can, borrow stuff from other people. Don't let it get to you, don't lose patience, and don't be angry at your parents.

Parents can be very horrible it is hardly your fault.

And no offence to your Dad but what idiot leaves the car someplace without checking to be sure there's nothing in there???

Chill. I Pray your parents ease up and that you aren't penalised in any way.

Are you kidding??? "Parents can be very horrible", "it is hardly your fault"? So the fact that he left it in the car does not make him accountable?

Charlie, listen, we learn through OUR mistakes.

It is not a mistake to leave a bag in the family car. It was a mistake to not check the back to ensure nothing valuable was left behind.

Therefore, the Father and Mother have no right to chastise their son for leaving a bag in the back of the car.

Parents make mistakes. It happens. No big deal.

As a parent of a 15 year old and a 13 year old and a 10 year old and a 8 year old, 2 year old, 3 1/2 month old, I can tell you it gets old Caroline, when they keep forgetting their stuff at school or where ever.

It gets to the point where they have to suffer the consequences for their forgetfulness in order to not keep making the same mistakes, to not keep forgetting things all over the place because when they become adults in the real world that just isn’t going to cut it.

When you get out the vehicle, you have to check to see if you have everything. I have to check to see if I have everything when I go inside, my purse, shopping bags, whatever. That is my responsibility, no one else’s. The last thing I'm doing is making sure a 15 year old brought in his books.

I can also let you know this, if any of my kids E-ver said to me that I am the one who made the mistake (and that is something they would say too) because I did not check to see if they forgot something they were supposed to not be forgetting, they would be punished for that comment. I wouldn’t punish them for forgetting their stuff in my car, their having to face the natural result of their action would be punishment enough but they would be punished for daring to speak to me that way and showing such disrespect.

I think there is a misunderstanding of the circumstances that Charlie faced.

Hey Charlie since this was a coupla days ago, I assumed you've simmered down some. I hope everything worked out okay. :)
