He does not delay. There is God's timing . . . of all things in relation with His overall purpose, plus all that is best for His people as His family . . . not for one person to get a quick-fix thing in isolation from the rest of our family.

In case I understand this right > my lady friend got in trouble for having me visiting her. So, I immediately got away from her property. Right away, because I was not being so attentive to her, I was meeting people I had not shared with for some time. I was surprised at how readily I connected with different people whom I had not seen even since before the pandemic. So, right away, I could see that getting away from my lady friend's place could have to do with God's all-loving managing of things . . . so I would be loving others, as well as her. And learn how to love the ones who had an issue with me.

And as I left and did things near her place, I kept meeting and sharing with ones who lived in her housing setting. So, I could love them and share with them away from where she stayed.

And the Bible says to pray for any and all people > 1 Timothy 2:1-4; so I have gotten more into praying for her administrative people and neighbors where she is.

So, God loving us does not mean He just takes care of things for our convenience, and certainly He does not accommodate only how we are now, while we are maybe not so mature, not so ready for the good He really wants to do with us. But God is all-loving, therefore arranging things for us to handle as maturing and all-loving people and this in coordination with how He is blessing our Jesus brothers and sisters.

But yes we have people in urgent situations. If God seems to delay about someone suffering greatly, for example . . . I can pray for the person. I can't explain that. Even so, there are ones who have actually arranged for themselves to get into major suffering; but, even so, trust God who is creative and discover what He has you doing with Him.

I couldn't agree more, especially on the point that God is our Father and teaches us a measure at a time so that we can digest and grow - just like children do. If He didn't "delay" at times, we would miss out on His greater truths and purposes.

The Father's priorities always come first!

Hello @Joseph G, I believe that Romans 11:25's "fullness of the Gentiles" speaks to the thread title's question pretty directly (though there are other reasons too), as does 2 Peter 3:9, in a sense anyway, but indirectly). The Lord will continue to tarry until all of those who He knows are coming to Him have already done so. He will see that none of the saints are left behind :amen:

God bless you!!

For His glory...

From God's viewpoint, there is no delay. He has not put His plans in our hands. He is sovereign; He is in control; He has His "appointed time." and only He knows when that is.

God is patient, we must also be patient. He has perfect timing ... we wait.

Habakkuk 2:3

3For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

"Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry" is also a parallel construction. God is saying, "Be patient. If things seem to be delayed, it is only your perspective because it will come right on time. I do things when I want them to happen."

I agree.
I like how Habakkuk puts it, and how it is rendered in the NLT.
This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:3

Habakkuk says though, that it will not delay.
While God's day may seem slow in coming... from our perspective 2 Peter 3:9, God day will come exactly on time - according to his time schedule.

It will certainly come and not be late.

And we have Isaiah 55:11 >

"'So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
. .It shall not return to Me void,
. .But it shall accomplish what I please,
. .And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.'"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Isaiah 55:11)

Yes, what God will do later shall come to pass, and all things now are in timing for what is yet to come. Basically, God plans to conform His children to the image of Jesus > Romans 8:29 < this is a basic priority always affecting what God does and when.

But, also, God's word is ***now*** doing all He pleases. So, in case some thing does not happen, there is all the good which God's word is doing, right now. So, we do well to be submissive to God so He is bringing us to whatsoever good He is doing and wants to share with us; this includes how He makes us able to sense and detect what the good things are, at any moment, even . . . **no matter how evil makes things look**.

That's right. God doesn't waste a single day of our lives.
