So much is going on in Iraq right now between the Sheites(sp?) and the Sunnis. Why doesn't God step in and reveal to them that their fight is pointless and that they both are fighting for a false god?

People will always fight. People have always fought for what they believe to be true and right.

Dear thedream233. God loves all His Creation, and He has given us free will, to do, or not to do. God wants us to love each other, He has given us His Commandments, to live by. Jesus told us too, but He pointed out, that we lift up the sword, we must expect to be killed by it. Men will always fight, and there will be wars. It is not God`s doing, dream233, and I say this humbly and sadly. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

Well you could say that many of them don't know that they are fighting for a 'false god'. Do you think these people have ever read a Bible?
You could ask 'why didn't God intervene when Catholics and Protestants were killing each other centuries ago'?
But you should really ask yourself the following...
Why don't you see tens of thousands of muslims protesting in the city streets against this muslim on muslim violence?

...Land, ensuring justice, safe futures, stopping abusive forces from taking over, income opportunities, future stability, political ideologies, personality favoritism, crowd mentality, financial backers, natural resources .... religion is in there, but not the whole motive.
It's a big risk people take, to stand behind their violence and face loss of property and security. So each person has strong reasons behind defending their territories.
Sometimes it's just fear of the unknown... mistrust of those who claim that they'll have everyone's best interest in mind. Or powerful rallying leaders, who do in fact bring cause for mistrust. Or a past where no leader could be fully trusted.
How God could stop it -- He could create an island where one group could live in safety. But that's not really what they want.
He could show up visibly and scare the heebeejeebees out of everyone, but that wouldn't resolve anything.

Because they don't accept Jesus as their Savior. They think he is only a prophet. God doesn't force people to repent; He is a gentlmen. He wants worshippers who come to Him unconditionally with a free will.
