Why does everyone hate Mary so much?

I can't say I see what you interpret in the Scriptures, though I have read others make similar claims.

Interesting; I've seen many teachings misinterpreted and labelled heretical and no doubt some hold heretical opinions about Mary, but then heretical opinions have also been promulgated re: the very person of Jesus Christ.
Even though Mary was in her early days highly favoured by the Lord due to her role in the birth process with Jesus, history has sadly been very unkind to her where he name has been blackened by the many heresies within Mariolatry.

There are all manner of "olotries" about Christ, the Father, the Holy Spirit, the Saints of the NT, and any number of other things. It is a shame (including how many I've met who cannot stand the name of Jesus because of what Christians have said to them ... )

Let's not mix up Mary herself with the heresies committed in her name.

Its not HER fault some people call her "mother of God".
Let's hope that your right and you probably are; but history has certainly dealt Mary a harsh blow where her legacy, being with that of her name, has been used for centuries to undermine the Son of God.

Sounds like you doubt Elizabeth.

Really? I think history has been very kind to Mary. A small minority would agree with what you just said.

I would be careful claiming Mary turned her back on God. That's just outright wrong.

It's not that Evangelicals hate the Blessed Mother so much as they either never learned the truth or have been fed lies and continue to spread those lies as evidenced here in GT and this thread

"And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?"

It's not entirely Elizabeth's fault you know ... Luke went and recorded it

Well, we agree Jesus is God, and we agree Jesus is our Lord, and we agree Jesus had Mary for His earthly mother. But the phrase "mother of God" seems as if it might be construed as if Mary's genome contributed to the divinity of Jesus, and I prefer to avoid that phrase so that idea is not given a toe hold.

I don't think its so much about Mary forgetting Jesus was the Son of God as much just the simple fact He was her son. A mother is a mother is a mother. Who could expect anything less.

I think some people do misinterpret it in this way; but for those familiar with the Scriptures and the right teachings, there is no confusion. The hymns also make this clear, with lines such as:

"Today, the Virgin bears Him who is transcendent, and the earth presents the cave to Him who is beyond reach. Angels, along with shepherds glorify Him. The Magi make their way to Him by a star. For a new child has been born for us, the God before all ages."

And there are more explicit examples in the hymnography, so that even my children when quite young understood this paradox, that He who is pre-eternal, the Son of God the Father was incarnate by the pre-eternal Holy Spirit and Mary; she who is created bears the Uncreated Logos as son.

And another example (I never tire of this hymn):

An Arabic Christmas Carol (Byzantine Hymn of the Nativity) - YouTube

Because of course, we understand that there are the "categories" of created, and Uncreated; Mary is a creature, but God Who creates is uncreated.

No one tries to mythologise Sarah. No one ascribes titles and honor to her or works themselves into a religious swoon over her. No one claims divine status for Sarah.

Mary goes to get Christ and take Him away back home because His own people according to the flesh thinks Jesus is out of His mind.

Mark 3

20 Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.”

22 And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”

At least His own people did not say Christ was demonic. Although it does not say they did.

31 Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.

32 And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers[e] are outside seeking You.”

33 But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”

34 And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!

35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”

Jesus on the contrary says those who are there with Him, who sat with Him are His family. Even though His own people think Christ is insane.

If your doing the will of God and a woman, then you also are Christ's mother!!

Where does Mark state that Mary does this ?

Yes, Christ in these passages points to a common relationship through God the Father.

But this is not dismissive of Mary ...

In fact, while on the cross, Jesus Christ arranges for the care of His mother - hardly dismissive.

Well, Mary is going along with them (His own people who say He is crazy) and they all, Mary included are calling to Him.

Which is why Christ makes the point about WHO is really His family.
Not these (His own people) who think Him insane out of His mind, and that after He had done so many miracles. Shows you miracles do not turn people into believers that this Jesus is God Himself come in the flesh. Jesus did say He and the Father were ONE. Mary at the cross likely had come to believe her son was the Christ. But anyone who say Christ is out of His mind does not believe Him to be the Son of the Living God.

Those saying He is "beside Himself" are already with Him (verse 21).

It is after the interchange with the scribes (verse 22 on) that Mark writes:

Then came (erxontai/arrived) the brothers and His mother ... (verse 31)

I wouldn't worry much about the rants of false prophets. Mary was a virtuous woman who found favor with God and was blessed to be the earthly mother of Jesus. Beyond that, she was a good wife to Joseph and the mother of several other children as the Scriptures confirm. As a mother she is certainly a good role model, though I would hope your own mother would be as well.

Jesus taught us not to pray to intercessors, but to pray directly to your true Father which is in Heaven. That said, those who pray to intercessors have a great advantage over those who do not pray at all. We all serve the same God. Even Jesus prayed to His Father. Christians have the Holy Spirit, which is the only intercessor we need between the Father and ourselves. Beyond that, how you pray seems less important that the relationship you have with the Creator.
