There's nothing like sin to turn a guy into a precise exegete.Sanctification doesn't mean getting as close to sin as possible without actually sinning.
theirs obedience, and then theres what moses achieved. You are not sinning, but there is no purpose to it. If you had nothing better to do, werent diabetic or overweight, then i wouldnt see why not.Ok, about that self centeredness thing, what if... i went down to the shop to buy a chocolate so i could eat it, and with NO other purpose. I just get this craving for chocolate that i want to fulfil. Would i be sinning?
Anime isnt usually filtered from real images.. I cant think of any anime that is but w/e. But if it was i think it would still be wrong because the base image is still the same. If a 3d rendering system could render so that it looked almost real, it would be the same as anime because its still not real. Its not the image itself thats wrong, its the fact that God says that to look a woman lustfully is wrong. *matthew 5:28 And that in alot of porn you are looking at real people commiting adultery, but not all. Its that the woman exists, shes a real living soul, she could be objectified. Would you want your wife to be on a porn site, daughter, you, son, parents?? Anime is art, its imagination put onto paper, inked, scanned, colored, and ends as a picture. Hentai would be just as wrong as sexual fantasies because its the same thing, just on different materiel (brain, paper, computer) But sexual fantasies arent inherently wrong. I think they could be if you thought something evil, but that sexuality doesnt make them evil.what i want to know is, how distorted does an image need to get before it isn't porn any more? what happens if i take an image, apply thousands of cell shading filters so that it looks like anime, would that still be porn? at what point would it change?
Shizzle said:Id like to know the reason that people think Masturbation, Sexual fantasies, Animated porn, or alchohol consumption is sinful. Use biblical support plz, King James Version(its least simplified).
1. Lust
Lust in the bible means wants as seen in Deuteronomy 14:26
And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
The modern meaning of Lust is Sexual fantasies
2. Immorality
If a verse says something about immorality being wrong, yet the bible does not define any of these actions as being immoral anywhere inside it, then that verse is not relevant to any of these actions, so dont post it.
3. Matthew 5:28
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Causes:
A. Looketh upon a woman
B. To lust after her
Effects:
A. Adultery in your heart (thus sin)
in sexual fantasies, cause A is not fulfilled.
in animated porn, cause A is not fulfilled.
This verse was very specific about how adultery could be commited in your heart, it is not saying that adultery can be commited in your heart as it can in reality.
4. Onan
Onan was killed because he didnt fulfill his commitment to his brother to give his brothers wife children.
It doesnt say he masturbated, it says he spilled his seed, he could have used withdrawal for all we know.
5. Drunkeness
drinking alchohol does not make you drunk, verses that say drunkeness are wrong only say that, getting drunk is wrong. They never say alchoholic drinks are sinful.
Did i mispell alchohol?
Please do not post here unless you have a bible verse that you believe to imply or infer that any of these topics are wrong
no it isnt specific on "sexual stimulation" at all, dont twist the words of the word.. You do need to post a verse because thats the whole point of this thread. The bible does not need to be specific about masturbation or pornography becuase it is specific that sexual stimulaion is a privellege reserved EXCLUSIVELY to hetrosexual marriage. This is the ONLY instance of where the bible clearly implicitly supports sexual activity.

This verse is about finance not about sex, so is it really pertinent to our discussion?Shizzle said:And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

Lust can be for anything. Lust of money, lust of better looks, lust for power. But in our Christianized vocabulary, it is used for sexual inclination. The Bible kind of uses this is 1 Thess. 4:3-5 which implies that this 'passion of lust' leads to sexual immorality.

philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I don't know about sinful - maybe it's not, but it certainly doesn't conform to Paul's admonition above in Philippians, does it?
