Ok, about that self centeredness thing, what if... i went down to the shop to buy a chocolate so i could eat it, and with NO other purpose. I just get this craving for chocolate that i want to fulfil. Would i be sinning?

what i want to know is, how distorted does an image need to get before it isn't porn any more? what happens if i take an image, apply thousands of cell shading filters so that it looks like anime, would that still be porn? at what point would it change?

I don't understand why people try to go against their hormones, their nature. please no bububut its in our nature to kill or other silly arguments I swear like every time I see this all these christian guys whine, complain, have all these emotional issues. The other guys (and girls too) who don't have a problem with masturbation seem to be able to live life normally without being smote by God or experiencing the results of comitting mortal sins.

Shizzle--There are seven pages, the majority trying to to respond to the OP of why the things you are listed our wrong yet you still use the same circular unfounded logic to try to prove why you are right (it is okay to admit that you are wrong you know, don't let pride get in the way or you end up making an even bigger idiot out of yourself).

From your writing this is my overall impression of you "I'm a Christian so I don't have to listen to anyone." You feel as if you don't have to listen to government or honest Christian advice from those wiser than you. You use circular logic (which you view as logic but really does not make much sense). God could literally come flying out of the sky and yell at you why it is wrong and you would keep walking blindly until you fell off a cliff.
My advice to you dear Shizzle: Talk to a Christian adult that you trust. I won't tell you to pray for guidance b/c you'd probably just ignore what God would try to tell you anyway.

So there it is, the picture that you have painted of yourself, what do you think of it? Is that how you want non-Christians who's eternal life may rest in the fact that you make your faith in Christ known?

As far as masturbation preventing prostate cancer (do you have a reliable source for that...like a medical journal or something?)...there are many other things you can do (like fish oils and selenium is especially good for helping to prevent prostate cancer. Another word of advice: Everything causes cancer.

As far as furthering you time for the ministry: (a) What have you done lately to further the kingdom of God? and (b) When you die, you die. God already knows the day of your death, doesn't he?

And underage drinking--should we start giving kids alcohol at the age of five because it has positive health effects? For those "positive health effects" there are also many negative ones, for example damage to the liver, severe acid reflux, sleep apnea, irregular heartbeats, etc. The reason why there is a law is because kids are immature, they don't look at the consequences, and they think they are invincible. It only makes sense to have an age limit so hopefully they will be mature enough once they start drinking not to do anything stupid.
Also, if I remember correctly one reason why everyone in the Bible drank is because it helped kill the bacteria in the water that made people sick...

Lastly, God will convict you when you die as to what you have done wrong in you life, so whatever he deems right and wrong lets just hope that you have made the right choices in your life.

1. Lust
Lust in the bible means wants as seen in Deuteronomy 14:26

2. Immorality
If a verse says something about immorality being wrong, yet the bible does not define any of these actions as being immoral anywhere inside it, then that verse is not relevant to any of these actions, so dont post it.

3. Matthew 5:28

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Causes:
A. Looketh upon a woman
B. To lust after her
Effects:
A. Adultery in your heart (thus sin)

in sexual fantasies, cause A is not fulfilled.
in animated porn, cause A is not fulfilled.
This verse was very specific about how adultery could be commited in your heart, it is not saying that adultery can be commited in your heart as it can in reality.

4. Onan
Onan was killed because he didnt fulfill his commitment to his brother to give his brothers wife children.
It doesnt say he masturbated, it says he spilled his seed, he could have used withdrawal for all we know.

5. Drunkeness
drinking alchohol does not make you drunk, verses that say drunkeness are wrong only say that, getting drunk is wrong. They never say alchoholic drinks are sinful.

I am going to post here without a bible verse for a very good reason. I don't need to read a specific verse to know right from wrong.

The bible IS NOT a book of RULES. It is a book about relationship and attitude. Relationship to God and then to people and Attitude towards God and people (also attitude towards right and wrong which is an effect of relationship, or lack thereof, with God.

Now if we approach the bible from this attitude we discover we need to be doing everything that will improve our relationship with God (and other people) and not doing anything that will lessen or worsen our relationship with God.

The bible does not need to be specific about masturbation or pornography becuase it is specific that sexual stimulaion is a privellege reserved EXCLUSIVELY to hetrosexual marriage. This is the ONLY instance of where the bible clearly implicitly supports sexual activity.

This verse is about finance not about sex, so is it really pertinent to our discussion?

Lust can be for anything. Lust of money, lust of better looks, lust for power. But in our Christianized vocabulary, it is used for sexual inclination. The Bible kind of uses this is 1 Thess. 4:3-5 which implies that this 'passion of lust' leads to sexual immorality.

How well does scrubbing a toilet conform? Cleaning out a septic tank? Changing a poopy diaper? The word lovely just does not spring to mind... and yet these are all things that need to be done.

Your predetermined conclusion is controlling how you define your terms. I don''t find anything impure about mastrtubation and I think it is a very honest activity. And while I don't think it's terribly appropriate that people report on their mastrabatory activities, I am equally uncomfortable with people who choose to report on their married sexual activities, the details of their surgical procedures or the habits of their bowels, but I think such activities are highly recommended.
