Why do some Christians want the world to end?

I have heard many Fundmentlist go on about the end of times and how great it will be when Christ comes back and God will show his Love by destroying the world.............. Why would any one want Christ to come back if it means the world is going to end? I did read some of the Left Behind books knowing the writers were trying to get me to convert and they did make me want to convert, to another religon. I cant see how a kind and loving god would do that to his own creations. What gets me even more is that there are Fundmentil Christians who want these thing to happen, but why? Dose that not go agaist every thing the Gospels teachs about love and forgivness?

This will happen after Jesus's 1000 year reign. Everybody will have been shipped off to their final destination by this point. The physical realm was created for the benefit of Man. Since there will be nobody inhabiting the place, there's no more use for it, so God incinerates it.

To begin with, the earth is not wiped out of existence. It will be renovated and returned to its original state, as it was before sin came into it.

Why do Christians pray for God's/Christ's kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven? Simply because there will be no evil, no sin, no hatred, no disease, no pain, no tears. We will get to spend eternity serving our King and Lord, in the most incredible existence one can imagine, or beyond our wildest imaginings.

I think it was the apostle Paul who said that to die was gain, because then he would be with Christ.

It seems you misunderstand what will happen when Christ comes for the second time. For those of us who believe, we will spend eternity with him in the most ideal environment imaginable. For those who do not believe, they spend eternity in another place, not nearly so nice.

And, that will be by choice. God won't force you into His kingdom if you don't wanna be there.

I for one am shocked at how many people want this world to die, and all the evil people in it, to go to hell. I for one want the world to move on, so that we christians may reach out to the lost and share the gospel of Christ with them, so they too may goto heaven with us.

I want to be in heaven. I want to be there now, so if the rapture is to occur I'm hoping it's today, and i pray God take me every night anyway, cause I don't like it here, and want to be in heaven with God. It's how I feel.

But God in his great mercy and love, is patiently bearing us until the times are fulfilled, which we don't know when such will be.

In the end there will be a new heaven and earth. The earth will have the New Jerusalem. Appears believers will be in heaven or on the new earth, both places.

In other words, both places will contain believers.

I don't know what a fundamentalist is, I'm just a Christian but wish it all were over now.

But sadly there are loved ones who do not know Christ for whom I am very concerned. And God is very concerned about all way more than I am.

Because I want the end to come does not mean i'm unforgiving, means i'm sort of selfish.

Christians are real people, real feelings, and real failings.

We all have differnt experiences, feelings, support, lack of support, etc.

So, like any hope that many as possible come to Christ, but would be glad if today is last day as well.

blessings,
tapero

Don't you ever hit an overload point -- where friends are depressed and suicidal, flinging insults at each other because it's considered funny now, treating women without dignity, laughing about stealing just to see what they can get away with, cheating on the same exams you're taking...

It's not about wanting the earth to be destroyed, but includes finding relief from tripping over these offenses every day. When people say "Lord, come soon," they are often looking for a day where everyone's offenses will be washed clean and set behind us (as they can be now) -- and there will be no pain or suffering.

There is a promise of renewal.

I am ready for the rapture and can't think of a better way to meet Jesus than him coming like a thief in the night to take me and all the other believers away to heaven with him. To see him in all his Glory is a day that I look forward to and I am not afraid. I am sad for those who will be left behind and that is why we are to preach and teach the gospel to all those we can so they can join us in heaven.

The rapture is going to happen whether or not we want it to. The world will be destroyed and restored in God's glory and it is going to be magnificent and far better than anything I can imagine and I can't wait to get there and start praising and worshipping in a perfect heaven and perfect earth.

It's not that Christians want the world to end, but rather the finality of what will happen when it does. It's an inevitable event. The Bible says it's already going to happen. Man is destroying the world as we speak (God always seems to get blamed for the bad things).

The Apostle Paul said that he desired to depart and be with the Lord (Phillipians 1:23). That was more desirable. All of the old saints of the past have always awaited a new city, a new Jerusalem from heaven (Hebrews 11). This world is not out home.

Hope this clarifies!

God bless.

and God will show his Love by destroying the world...........

Yes, God is love. But He is also holy. He will not allow something to continue to live with sin (that would not be loving).

God wouldn't allow Adam to eat from the tree of Life after sin entered in because He wouldn't allow Adam to live forever after knowing sin. (Sin is depression, doubt, anxiety, worry, sickness, etc.)

God will wipe out what man will destroy anyway and He will start over, He will create a new beautiful creation. One that is perfect, free of sin and imperfection. The reason we need Jesus Christ is because He is God's perfection. God clothes us with His righteousness through the Lord Jesus Christ, glory to His name!

God Bless!

I suspect that our planet has a shelf life -- and I'm not just talking about global warming, but the natural span during which it can sustain life.

Even though it seems the Earth barely changes over time, it's still a rock that experiences aging, by density and volume changes, heat loss/gain, gravitational pulls, bombardment, electro-magnetic forces from within and without. Everything in the universe changes. I think that God declares an end because human life will only endure the natural transitions for so long.

I know that the Christian lingo is more simplistic, but that's because people are referring back to the same few verses. They're a springboard for meditation and research.

Yes, but why wait until he comes back to start renewal? We sit around as if we can do nothing to help change this world, or at least a few people. We are given the tools necessary to start a worldwide revival, and renewal of faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus always talked about the kingdom being at hand now, not later when all the bad people were wiped out. No, the kingdom is at hand NOW! We can go out and heal the broken hearted, the sick, and those without hope. We are to be a light of hope to this world, not a group of people wishing for the death and destruction of all mankind, so that we may have it easier. Doesn't that seem a bit selfish?

I think that day is gonna suck. It's not called Judgment Day for no reason at all.
I think a lot of us who think we've got the free ticket are in for a surprise.
I'm on this planet one time. This is it. This is all I've got. A lot of the time it sucks but I kind of want to stick around for a while.
Jesus said the fields are ripe for harvest. I'd hate to see the end of it all with so much work left to do. We all will have to answer for how we have wasted our lives on frivilous endeavors while the important things were neglected.
It's gonna be the employment review from hell.

Why ?
they are shocked and disgusted with all the crap that is going on ... vivasection horror movies , gangsta rap, harlots, prostitues becoming movie stars , the church being denigrated daily in some scandal .... enough is enough ...it will be over and all will be better ...

problem with whole spin is ezekiel 3.18-24 , and when he returns we will stand before him and explain , why , we armed with his words, the name and the blood of Jesus, did not oppose, step up to the plate, and do some thing to stop it ....

oh God bless you, really
i feel so alone saying this and its like its unreasonable or something to suggest
As a species we can at any time just 'knock it off' if you know what I mean by that. Get over ourselves and opinions and self importance. Yes the Kingdom is here, quite apparent too its the eyes that are I dunno, darkened, tainted, cynical. The Kingdom will become so much more obvious if we just started treating each other nice at all times, just that and we are reaching a paradise global village. Whatever is within the human heart stopping these simple things needs to be rooted out, thats a rotted, ugly tree of habit...I think its because people forgot Jesus is inside them too and they are divine not just slaves to passions
Self loathing leading to mindless selfish acts..running from pain to pleasure with no thought. this second we could all just wake up and thats cool
peace and LoVE
