Broadly speaking and this may be an exaggeration to make a general point. But I see two underlying ideas about societal and even world order. The Left of politics has always and mostly related to the counter culture, freedoms of expression, movement, and rights. Especially of the excluded. Generally more socialist I guess as well.

Whereas the Right is more by the rules, and laws and tradition. Or conservative approach, be thrifty with money and an emphasis or law and order. Hense border and national security.

They differ on forigne policy and immigrations. One believes that borders and nations are a cultural construction. The other a real national boundary that unifies a culture. I know thats simplistic but I think at least these are some of the ideas. Though there will be variations where its the reverse. Its just a generalisation and broadly speaking.

I have seen each of the democrat presidential candidates and presidents state the exact same policy as Trump.

I also think times have changed and its a different world to back then. In some ways even though it was an obvious issue even back then. I think its become 10 times worse. Not just in more refugees and undocumented immigrants. But more radicalism and all the bad stuff that goes with it has increased. Like tons of drugs coming over the borders.

Not just the US but many western nations. Like what Murray said. It seems insanity that western nations would more or less open their borders to millions of unknown immigrants in a time when radicalism was rising and spreading.

In the last 25 years nations imnmigration levels have skyrocketed and none are being integrated. It is crazy policy that asks for trouble and now we are seeing the conflicts spill onto streets.

Yes we can see a pattern of this. Which in itself is poor policy for the nation. Back and forth changes and confusion and chaos. No continious and conssistent policy that lets everyone know the law and then apply that law so that people see you mean it. It just undermines the nation and tells those trying to take advantage that the nations don't know what they are doing.

This seems a strange turn around as I think Trumps Latino vote increased in the election. Those who voted knew his policy on immigration. The wall and all that and the promise of a tough stance on illegal and criminal immigration.

So they knew exactly that Trump was going to be deporting at least some of their people. They seemed to vote for him anyway.

Yes. Those affected would find it hard to vote for someone who split up their family or caused them to go back to their nation not to seperate. They have been there long enough to start a family and new life.

We had similar controversies. Also wrongful deportations and arrests. These are wrong and spoil the other good work I think. Its hard especially when it has been allowed to go on. I think like any major change its ok to compromise and state from this point onwards this will be the case. That way your making an exception and still upholding the rule.

But I also think some cases have been misrepresented so as to create a false narrative which exasperates the tensions and conflicts where then every deportation, even genuine ones are objected to.

Yes I agree. The thing is when we step back and look at the bigger picture. How long has this been going on and is it getting worse. I know the populations are growing. I think radicalism is growing.

We have had dictators destroying nations and making people flee. The UN was suppose to help these nations become free and democratic. It seems they have cultivated the exact opposite by turning a blind eye.

Western nations cannot keep being the worlds safe zones as it seems this ends up making everything unsafe. It should have been the other way around. We should have stood up to the unjust and evil and stopped it gettingout of hand. Now its going to take drastic measures.

Like Gaza. It could have been a Rivierra now if the government did the right thing and instead of people fleeing they would be queuing up to live there. Why can't we help these nations get their act together. We have evidence of nations turning things aroound.

It's easier to hate ICE than holding people accountable for their actions. That's what it boils down to. The same people that do this also excused the BLM riots as a valid formula of protest.

Chronic lack and absolving of accountability and repercussions for wrongdoing.

Federal judge weighing ICE use of force in Chicago​

Judge Sara Ellis is considering extending restrictions on force in Chicago.

Attorneys representing journalists, clergymen and protesters who say they’ve been harmed by federal immigration agents during lawful protests are expected to show images and call on witnesses they say prove the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents are “increasingly reckless and dangerous.”

In October, U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis issued a temporary restraining order restricting federal agents from “using riot control weapons” against journalists, protesters and religious practitioners without first issuing warnings unless necessary to stop "an immediate and serious threat of physical harm" to agents or others.

Ellis also prohibited agents from “dispersing, arresting, threatening to arrest, threatening or using physical force” against anyone they should reasonably know is a journalist. The judge expanded the order on Oct. 16 to include a requirement for federal agents equipped with body-worn cameras to wear them and keep them on during "law enforcement activities" in the Chicago region. That order is set to expire on Thursday, Nov. 6.

But in recent weeks, plaintiffs in the case have provided several accounts, often caught on tape, of incidents they say are evidence that DHS is violating her court order.

Emerging to address a bank of TV cameras outside his papal retreat at Castel Gandolfo and offering to answer "one or two questions", Pope Leo XIV said there were people who have lived in the US "for years and years never causing problems, who have been deeply affected" by Trump's hardline policy on migration.

Speaking in English, and reaching a US audience directly, he reiterated the Catholic belief that every Christian will ultimately be judged on how they welcomed "the foreigner".

The FBI is urging partner agencies to “adequately identify themselves” amid a string of cases in which those impersonating U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers committed crimes, such as kidnapping and assault.


“Due to the recent increase in ICE enforcement actions across the country, criminal actors are using ICE’s enhanced public profile and media coverage to their advantage to target vulnerable communities and commit criminal activity. This not only effects the victims and communities but also has broader negative consequences on law enforcement agencies,” the FBI wrote in a bulletin.

The bulletin lists five instances in which someone impersonated an ICE officer, in some cases to commit violent crimes.


In August in New York, three men robbed a restaurant and tied up its staff, with the victims initially surrendering to the robbers because they identified themselves as ICE officers.

In April in Florida, a man kidnapped a woman who agreed to leave with someone posing as an ICE officer, only to be taken to an apartment complex where she escaped.

In Brooklyn in February, a man posing as an ICE officer directed a woman to a stairwell where he punched her and then tried to rape her, ultimately fleeing the scene with her purse and cell phone.

And in January in North Carolina, a man posing as an ICE officer entered a woman’s hotel room and sexually assaulted her, saying he would deport her if she did not have sex with him.

The bulletin said law enforcement officers of all stripes need to “adequality identify themselves during operations and cooperate with individuals who request further verification, such as calling their local precinct to verify the officer’s identity.”

A teacher at a Chicago day care center was violently dragged out and then arrested by federal immigration officers, several local, state and federal officials said at a press conference.

Rep. Mike Quigley, D.-Ill., said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents followed a teacher into the facility on Wednesday morning without a warrant and "abducted her in front of her students."

Quigley later told reporters the detained teacher had a work permit.

DHS said in a press release that her work authorization "does NOT confer any type of legal status to be in the U.S."

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said ICE did not target the day care and were instead conducting a "targeted traffic stop" of an undocumented woman from Colombia.

She added, "The illegal alien female was arrested inside a vestibule, not in the school."

I wondered when this one would show up. The woman was fleeing from a traffic stop and ran into a daycare. ICE did not target a school

ICE law enforcement did NOT target a Daycare. Officers attempted to conduct a targeted traffic stop of this female illegal alien from Colombia. Officers attempted to pull over this vehicle, which was registered to a female illegal alien, with sirens and emergency lights, but the male driver refused to pull the vehicle over. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle before the assailant sped into a shopping plaza where he and the female passenger fled the vehicle. They ran into a daycare and attempted to barricade themselves inside the daycare—recklessly endangering the children inside. The illegal alien female was arrested inside a vestibule, not in the school,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Upon arrest, she lied about her identity. The vehicle is registered in her name, though she claims that she didn’t know the man who was driving her car and just picked him up from a bus stop. Facts including criminality and information on the male assailant are forthcoming and we will update the public with more information as soon as it becomes available.”

“Defendant Bovino admitted that he lied about whether a rock hit him before he deployed tear gas in Little Village,” Ellis said.

In fact, he was not hit by a rock before lobbing a tear gas canister, without warning, at the crowd, Ellis said, adding that Bovino may have been hit after he threw the tear gas canister. In addition, Bovino fired a second canister at the crowd as people fled the area and posed no threat to anyone, Ellis said.

Ellis pointedly noted that that incident occurred after she ordered agents to issue two warnings before deploying tear gas or other “less lethal” crowd control measures and only when there was a clear threat posed by protesters.

In an interview with the Associated Press published Tuesday, Bovino said “If I had more CS gas, I would have deployed it” during the incident in Little Village.

Ellis said it was actually a flash-bang grenade fired by federal agents, not fireworks thrown by protestors.

In addition, Bovino lied about his conduct outside the Broadview ICE facility, where video shows that he “obviously attacks and tackles” a man, Ellis said.

“But Mr. Bovino, despite watching this video (in his deposition) says that he never used force,” Ellis said.

ICE grabs father by the neck—send him into violent seizure while his arms lock up around his toddler.

"He's having seizure and they're trying to rip the baby out of his hands!"

Agents then handcuff him—before putting in ambulance with his child.

Mother is detained by agents as the original target of arrest during the traffic stop—according to witnesses.

ICE arrests Episcopal priest who reportedly works for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice​

James Eliud Ngahu Mwangi, a Kenyan immigrant, was arrested in late October and transferred to a detention center in Conroe. The Episcopal Diocese of Texas is calling for action.

In a statement, the Episcopal Diocese of Texas said Mwangi was legally employed by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was arrested in Huntsville, about 70 miles north of Houston, according to the Dallas Morning News.
