It seems however that it used to be less abnormal in old times
History and scripture are not ignored where they have something relevant and testable. Scripture rarely does, so for the most part it is ignored. So narrow that all things spiritual as well as the entire ancients records of history and all of Scripture are demeaned and ignored.
That's some pretty good projection. You know how you belittle and reject science because it doesn't agree with your box of magic tricks? Think about it.....Only what is in the little locked ridiculous religious box will they consider 'real'! All else is imaginary! Hilarious. It's about time we had a revolution and renascence of enlightenment and freedom.
I love how, in a thread about language, you confuse Spanish & FrenchViva la verite
You all try to use the same old trick.
first you limit yourself to the natural sciences and to the belief system of naturalism
, and then you argue that anything beyond that is fantasy because it doesn't fit in your limited views.
No, of course it doesn't.
It's called SUPER natural for a reason.
So where does that leave your (not just you) opinion on these matters?
It leaves it baseless.
Baseless, because you ignore or dismiss any knowledge or evidence of the matter.
You don't even weigh and assess it, because you have nothing to weigh and assess it when you ignore and dismiss it all.
But that's your free choice.
But it's delusional to pretend you know better, when you choose not to know at all.
We get it, anything that is not based on believing in a same nature in the past is like leprechauns in your head. And leprechauns! Don't forget about the leprechauns!
The basic languages kept changing of course. But they did not appear out of thin air, it was Babel. Some of those languages did not exist even 2000 years ago. English, for example.
Science is irrelevant as a tester because it was not there to test anything.History and scripture are not ignored where they have something relevant and testable. Scripture rarely does, so for the most part it is ignored.
Magic is in the eye of the believer. That's some pretty good projection. You know how you belittle and reject science because it doesn't agree with your box of magic tricks? Think about it.....
Call me inclusive if I add both.I love how, in a thread about language, you confuse Spanish & French

Actually, proto-indo-european (indo-european is a language family, not a language itself) is a very well understood language, although it is a reconstructed language rather than an attested language.I think that what he's trying to say is that Indo-European is a "basic language." Certainly the origins of Indo-European are lost in the mists of time.
The phrase "Viva la verite" would be presumably a statement in Indo-European. Personally, λαλῶ la langue indoeuropäische as well.
They appeared from thin air never having talked to anyone? It depends what you mean by "basic language" and "thin air."
Tok Pisin (used in Papua New Guinea) has appeared in recent times, as have other creoles. English has appeared in the last 2000 years.
If nature changed the way we processed information, all under the order and supervision of God, then there is no thin air. That's hilariously contradicting, because assuming the obviously false Babel story is real, then that would necessarily require languages to show up as if out of thin air - since they would have no precursor languages.
Don't hide science behind Leprechauns. They each need to defend themselves in the open as the bible does.Close, but no cigar.
I'll correct your strawman:
"Anything that is not based on verifiable evidence, is like leprechauns in my head".
You know, since claiming leprechauns are real, isn't based on verifiable evidence either.
No idea what you mean.If nature changed the way we processed information, all under the order and supervision of God, then there is no thin air.
Don't hide science behind Leprechauns.
The change in nature was at the same time as Babel. No idea what you mean.
Sounds like word salad.
