Isaiah addressed a human king in Chapter 14:
Why did Satan divert from God and start a rebellion?
Pride. He thought he could oppose God by open force and be successful somehow. Many other angels joined his course.
When did he find out his ultimate end?
Isaiah was a bit ambiguous. Jesus said it more clearly in Matthew 25:
Once he had started the rebellion, there was no remedy. He cannot repent and be forgiven. Perhaps he is hoping that when the end comes, God would just mercifully annihilate him. In any case, God is using him to test everyone.
Ambiguously, the address implicated Satan:4 you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon:
That's crazy arrogance, conceit, and self-deception. It's delusional madness! It's crazy pride, totally illogical. In fact:12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.”
Jesus echoed this idea in Matthew 23:15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.
Before that final end, meanwhile, Satan is the ruler of this world.12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Isaiah was a bit ambiguous. Jesus said it more clearly in Matthew 25:
Why would Satan knowingly lead himself to his own demise?41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.' "
