Well, you destroyed 6 million of my chosen people, but that's okay.

Forgive me for being nitpicky, but I thought that Christians are God's chosen people.

Anyway, I agree with everything else you said. Chosen or not, killing six million Jews (as well as several million other people) is perhaps one of the most wicked acts committed in human history, and I tend to think that God would not even grant such a person repentance.

(BTW, consider this post my friendly invitation to discuss the issue of who God's chosen people are; on a Christians-only board, of course.)

The Jews are Gods chosen people - for making jokes. They share a similar sense of humour.

You're Orthodox, so I know you agree with me that the church is God's Israel. Unfortunately, many modernists even within the evangelical church write off this ancient doctrine as so-called "replacement theology."

In Kemetic Orthodoxy the closest we have to hell is the being called Am-mit. Am-mit eats the souls of those who were very wicked in life.
However, I don't believe in this myself. I don't think any souls can be lost to God forever. For someone who was very bad in life, it may take a lot of time for them to get back to God, but I dont think it is impossable for anyone..

I believe, that if someone belives in hell it can manifest itself in your life and afterlife.

I truly believe that I have my own heven here that I can make for myself right now. I could also choose to be negative, and make a hell for myslef, but Id rather not.

HEY! that is really not nice. i would appreciate it if you and arunma and others would stick to the topic. It isn't asking IF there is a hell...it is asking who believes in it and why.

NOW if you all don't mind save the bickering for off the thread and go flame others. Quite honestly Montalban I am disappointed you would post such a blatantly anti semitist joke. I might have my issues with you but JEEZZZZZZZ.

That's a comment I plagerised from a Jewish comedian! It's funny. At least it was when I heard it.*

Am I to assume you taking Jesus' name in vain to be an attempt at humour.

We're not bickering, either, as I've not refuted what he said at all. Aruma quite rightly says we agree.

You seem to wish to see 'evil' where it ain't.

Honi soi y mal pense.

And the joke related to the 'chosen' people.

*I heard it on tv back in the early 80s in a tv debate at Oxford between American and British comedians over who's sense of humour was funnier; Americans or Brits. Actually it might have been Jasper Carrott who said this line, but this Jewish comedian (who's name I can't recall) was not offended.

I agree. God gave us a choice, it's real, He'll respect our choice.

I did NOT Do that. Saying Jeez is like saying geewizz but shorter...It has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Jesus.

I don't care who wasn't or was offended...it is inapproprate and you know it! Gosh do I have to smack you or what?

I am a christian, but have been heavily influenced by NDE's testamonies. They talk about Hell, as an addiction to certain thought patterns or to certain things in this world that continues to the next world. Some talk of the next world as being a pile of pancakes. You might learn a certain degree of love on earth and so neither go to what we normally think of as Hell or Heaven. One NDE without explaining how this works claimed that people in Hell eventually get as many chances as they need to learn Love, but that the pain of this Hell is so great it is probably better to use all the chances we've got to learn Love... So not knowing how much to believe or whatto believe, yet still believing in a loving God, I affirm what somebody else here already said:
I don't think any souls can be lost to God forever. For someone who was very bad in life, it may take a lot of time for them to get back to God, but I dont think it is impossable for anyone..
