Why are you single?

I'm single because my girlfriend broke up with me. lol

Well, I'm single because right now, God sees that it's perfect timing for me to experience the single life for the time being.
Also, it's given me a chance to turn back to God, because I made my ex-girlfriend my god, catering to her every will and desire, sacrificing myself and my values to keep her happy.

Because I want to focus on God instead of men.

Ooo during the bonfire tonight, the guy who was doing worship, sang a song and one of the lyrics was, "Let us not lift our souls to another..." and that just spoke to me, that I need to give my heart and soul to God, not to a guy.

Anywho, so basically because I know I need to be right now.

Pretty much the same response to the reason why I am single just with instead of men it is women

I'm single for now but it won't be forever...

It isn't my time yet so I'm gonna wait for His timing than my own...

More time to focus on the Lord than looking for a woman to marry at this time...

It is a interesting time indeed uh huh...

And i am not in the position to give a women everything I got yet, still studying and have other commitments.

God can do amazing things in our life to heal us - if we let Him. If a person is depressed after divorce, they aren't giving God the control to heal their pain.

This isn't about why I'm anti-divorce. I don't intend to make it that way. Perhaps you took what I said too personally? I didn't intend it to be taken that way at all.

I didn't take it personally. I just get tired of seeing divorce tossed out there like a dirty word - which is not uncommon from you. Why not just say that you haven't met the right person to marry yet?

I'm single because:

1) I have high expectations/standards of my (supposedly imaginary) SO that I also expect out of myself.
2) People in general annoy me way too much to want to have a close commitment with someone. Being friends is okay. Anything beyond that and I get out of town.
3) I like the fact that I can spend money on myself.
4) I like (read: love) being single, celibate, chaste, and a virgin way too much to give it up for a relationship.
5) I feel like it would be a waste of my time to pursue a relationship, trying to read the opposite sex's subtle signs, hints, etc.
6) Did I mention that I like spending money on myself? I did? Well, yeah. I like spending money on myself. Being single = more money to spend on me.
7) I like my education too much. I feel like not being single would kill that, especially since I plan on going for a PhD in Sociology.
8) Asperger's Syndrome. As much as I've learned to use it to my advantage and love it, I don't want my genes spread, so to speak, as the chances of spreading that on to (supposed) offspring is possible.
9) Oh, and I like spending money on myself.

i didn't meet my crush's "standards" and it really really hurt. i don't think there should be "expectations" for a SO. anyone agree?

I think having standards is OK - as long as we realize that if we don't meet someone's standards it's not a black mark against us...it just makes us incompatible with that person. JMHO

I'm not certain why I'm single, but I am amazed that I am! It must be because none of the girls at my church know how great I am - I just wish they'd stop feeling so intimidated by me.

Hmmmm, I wonder what I'm doing wrong?

Why am I single? Well, I probably don't get out enough to meet anybody and the few people I do meet are taken or usually just not interested. I think my weight has a lot to do with it too. Guys don't like big girls let's face it. Also because guys are clueless to the fact that you're interested in them.

Yeah, it pretty much took a letter for me to see that she liked me. And conversations about "how young would you go?" were conversations about crushes and being surrounded by girls on occasion couldn't mean that anyone liked you! -_-; I can attest as a guy that I'm clueless.

On topic, I'm not actually single, and ...I don't think I want to break up anymore. She makes me really happy, it's just I don't know if I want to get married and all that.. -_-;
