The accepted age of the earth and the rest of the solar system, is about 4.55 billion years, plus or minus 1%, meaning that the range of error in this date is plus or minus 4,500,000 years.
In order for the YEC position to be correct the error range of dating must be plus or minus 99.999777777777800%.
It's a huge leap, to assume that the method is off by 4,499,990,000 years, and I would like to hear why the YECs assume that the 97% of scientist who agree that the age of earth is much older than a few thousand years, are deceiving us, or why the only competent scientist are the ones belonging to the YEC minority (their credentials sure don't say so)?
