I don't have a lot of experience with the whole relationship scene, only have been in one actual relationship that could even be considered one, because of feelings that were developed and shared. And even with that relationship having its ups and downs and ins and outs I can and never will be able to say I regreted any of it. It took me a bit to get past a lot of things I was dealing with after that relationship ended, still dealing with certain things and carry somethings, but thats expected and I really don't mind it.
But I have the problem with wanting to be in a relationship, I want the next chapter so to speak in my life to start. And maybe its the sappy side of me showing through but I miss the thought of being in a relaionship, knowing that there is someone in your life. I loved the fact of waking up each morning and going to bed each night and that one person being the first and last thing you think about. Maybe I was too over the top with it, but it was a nice feeling. But I am in no means rushing a relationship even if I am one of the people that wants to get marriend and have my own baseball team of kids. I want a stable best friend relationship, that we really wouldn't even have to consider the two of us to be a couple. I just would love to say to people that I married my best friend, even though people refer to their spouse as their best friend, I think there's a difference. But I am trying to take the time of not having someone special in my life and not looking for it to really reflect on things that are in my life and what I truly want out of life and not what's just always a given.

uh...it's a girl that posted this topic so she's probably looking for a man instead. Just an observation.

Why are relationships sought after so much? People have told me that God made us relational beings...that we need each other. I suppose it could be true. I sometimes think I might want a relationship but I know it would just bring me heartache so I busy myself with other activities.

God said in Gen. 2: 18, "it is not good for man to be alone". That's part of why we need relationships. Some people are created to be celebate.
Paul writes that it is better to remain single, unless you are burning with lust.
A married person is more concerned with their spouse than with the things of God. If you really desire a relationship, the first one to develop seriously is the one with the Lord. Get that sorted out properly and then it may be time for a spouse.

hehe...I was in one of my smart aleck moods last night and couldnt help it.

5 classes in one day??? eek!!! That would fry anyone's brain!

I know how you feel. I audit the inventory of a chain of retail stores for my 'day job'. Yesterday was SUPPOSED to go smooth but alas, the second store my partner and I did was an absolute nightmare. Our brains were pretty fried too.

Nater...I just glanced at your profile. Another March b-day person who lives in Indiana. I feel your pain. Where do you go to school? I'm a BSU grad. '98
I live in Lafayette. I go to Ivy Tech right now..taking courses for Criminal Justice. When I get done with that I'll be transferring to IUPUI to get my Bach degree. After that....well who knows!

All this stuff about personal details isn't helping understand about relationships. I'm sure it's important to both of you, but what about the original question?

Hoosier Canuk.... even though I like hearing what people have to say about things I write, but when you are going to try to judge me from my writting or say I am just looking for a man, I didn't really appreciate that. Ever hear about just writting what was on your mind at that time.

For me in the past "Having a girl" = "NOT feeling lonely". and i agree with gizmo03, it's the best feeling in the world but i have felt that God had been telling me not in an audible voice of course but simply in my conviction that if i can just make God the most important person in my life, Think about Him when i wake up in the morning and just before falling asleep at night He will bless me in amazing ways and that includes better friendships better relatioships, a girlfriend, financial increases, etc

So anyway i just though i'd share that becuase in my case a girl has never filled that lonely space in my heart that only the Lord can fill. a partner will definately make you feel good and loved but amotions are only temportary.

God Bless,
