Just an observation I had this afternoon as I went to pick up a few items at Home Depot:
As I ventured into the paint department there was a woman trying to find a paint brush. She was huffing and puffing and mumbling to herself about what the difference is with all these dang brushes! She was not in a good mood either. She proceeded to aggressively rip one of the covers off a brush and then she let out another large huff in pure aggravation because obviously that didn't help her decide and quicker.
As I passed the next isle over this girl was raising her voice at some guy she was with to help her pick out a color of paint. She seemed rather irritated that the guy was not in any mood to help her decide, yet she kept telling him to get his rear over here! When I glanced over in the direction she was looking I saw him just walk away. Probably irritated as well with her annoying demands.
As I was leaving the paint department, after grabbing the things I needed, there were a few patrons in line huffing and puffing and rolling their eyes because they had to wait in line just a few people deep to get their paint shaken up at the machine. I thought about standing in that same line but instead grabbed a few paint sticks and thought, "I will just stir it myself at home, no big deal."
In less than just a few minutes (I'm a fast shopper) I witnessed at least three to four different people who were not in good moods, at all. I see this all the time, in fact. It seems like the world gets worse, or I'm getting older and notice these things more.
As I got in my car and drove away I thanked God that he has given me the inner peace and joy that I don't act like those people.
I actually feel sorry for folks like that because I know what they are missing. God! So, I answered my own question, I know, but it still brings up a good point about how society is these days. It's everywhere you go. People are uptight, rude, aggravated, inconsiderate and much worse. Look at someone for more than a few seconds on the highway and they are ready for some road rage!
I know what some of you are thinking. "Why didn't I help that girl pick out a paint brush?" Or, why didn't I do this? Or that? Well, keep in mind, all this was only in passing as I was busy getting my own supplies from the paint department. I was on a mission myself so I didn't have a lot of time to help everyone I saw. If I did that all day long I wouldn't get anything accomplished! Sometimes I just observe people and it's quite interesting what I see. Now, I do help people quite a bit. In fact, I do "good deeds" almost every day but sometimes you just have to let God sort it out.
Now, time to paint! Later!
