  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Howdy everyone,

I thought about who is who...and how some may here actually be related...so I thought...hmmm...

Is anyone in your family famous and if so "WHO" and "WHAT DID THEY DO OR ARE STILL DOING"?

My dad is doing a family tree and it got me thinking...huh...wonder if anyone here is related to me..and maybe "how"?

So, if someone knows that they are related to:

Samuel Gompers who founded the AFL Labor Unions...we may be distant relatives!

So, anyone else wanna play? Thanks, hannah

Wow, that is some patriotic bloodline there brother!

I lived outside of Boston when I was a child, so I learned alot about the founding fathers. As..John Adams and family lived about a mile from where we used to live...we did sneak into his house a couple of times when we were little! It was cool!

My family to the best of my knowledge had one other famous person...and that was:

Beatrice Kay (April 21, 1907 – November 8, 1986) she was a singer, vaudevillian, music hall performer, stage and film actress. She was born in New York, New York and died in North Hollywood, California.

Yeh, I copied and pasted her stuff, I couldn't remember it all. She sang too...these Songs she popularized include "I'm Only A Bird In A Gilded Cage, "And The Band Played On", " Mention My Name In Sheboygan", and "Ta Ra Ra Boom De Ay."

So, there ya' go...anyone related to me? Or how about to middleman777? Wouldn't it be cool to meet someone else with some of the same history? I know others here have to have some famous people in there families. Can some of you share them with us, please?

Well, I am related to Noah Webster --he wrote the dictionary. My grandmoter was a Webster. Also Daniel Webster was a relative. I also heard that we have Spencer's in our family line --Lady Diana Spencer (still waiting to see the paper work on that!). That is on my mom's side.
On my dad's side--John Daily (may be spelled Daly)--who was a primitive Baptist preacher who wrote books and song books.
